The part of the mall has a Disney Store, Yankee Candle and many other stores. You can find mall information here:

I attempted to do a meet at the Valley Forge Park about two years ago.

Unfortunately it was challenging time to guage interest, so it wound up being cancelled.

Is the Disney store (Plaza section) still around? A long time ago (maybe 3 years ago) there was a meet that either started at Benningans at the mall and then went to the Disney Store.

I would love to attend. Either the mall or the park is fine with me.

Please read my original post as I've edited it to change the date and now have a place for the gathering. If you are interested please let me know.

I probably won't be able to go, but wanted to add...

If the meet were in Lancaster or somewhere near, you could probably get many more from central and maybe western PA to come. KOP, while a nice place for a meet, is a bit TOO far for those out that way. Me being in Newark Delaware, Lancaster is actually closer, right up 896, whereas KOP is a long drive up 95 and the Blue Route. I used to have friends up at Eastern College there (many nights spent at Denny's) and it's quite a haul.

I'm going to try to make this. It's been a long time since we did a local meet. It will just be me coming. :)
Sorry you can't make it Zurg's. It would be nice to see you all again.
Cindy, I think that was the last local meet we did. (at Bennigan's) We did manage to meet up with you at the Disney Store later though. We had a small turn out, but it was fun just the same.

I've edited my original message to delete the location. The folks at Bahama Breeze were not accommodating AT ALL! I'm not sure where we'll have it at this point. Any ideas out there? I'm assuming that a location at the King of Prussia Mall area on the weekend will be out because they are generally busy at lunch on the weekends and won't reserve tables for a large group.

What do you all think about having lunch at 11:30 (fairly sharp) at California Pizza Kitchen? They seem to be fairly accommodating and the food is decent. It is located just a few yards from The Disney Store too. We'd have to split the bill with cash and he said it would probably be $20 max including tip.

Thoughts?

I was trying to get something together for July 31st which seemed to work for everyone. However it turns out that I've got a lot going on this summer so I really can't do more than determine a location. At the King of Prussia Mall (the side where the Disney Store is) there is a California Pizza Kitchen (rather appropriate right) that will accommodate us at 11 or 11:30 for lunch. This seems to be the best restaurant for our group and if everyone could bring a nice variety of bills we could just split up the bill equally at the end of the meal. This place is quite reasonably priced. Again, really this is the extent of what I can do for the meet so if anyone wants to volunteer to get prizes or organize other things that are done at the meets please speak up. We could subsidize the prizes by having everyone chip in a little extra money or something.

Would anyone be willing to help or do you guys just want to keep it casual and just meet for lunch and maybe a visit to the Disney store?

I usually go to King of Prussia on Saturdays. I could make it to the Court for your meal at C.P.K. if my mom could drive me there. When I take the bus, it's after 1130.

I like California Pizza Kitchen. I hear their Thai Chicken pizza is to die for.:D

RATS!! I have been waiting for a meet in this area to attend. I can do KoP (1 1/2 - 2 hour drive) but not July 31. That is a day that has so many activities. I had to turn down my company picnic at Dorney Park because of other commitments. Why does everything come on the same day?

I am pretty sure myself, DH and possibly DS will be there.

DISNEY DUDETTE #2 will be there & hopefully DISNEY DUDETTE #3 but I need to discuss it with her. She is usually pretty agreeable. I will try to talk her into wearing her lime green "Bringing the Magic" t-shirt. So unless I read anything different - we are meeting at California Pizza Kitchen 11:30 AM on Saturday, July 31st.

Hope you all have a great weekend. Toodles:wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

I'll be there with my DH (Doreen and Todd). We'll plan to get there around 11 AM so we can eat at 11:15 at the California Pizza Kitchen. I think a stroll to the Disney Store afterward would be fun.

kpgclark

By the way, the reason we have to get there early is because they won't guarantee a space for us at a later time during the busy weekends. I figure if we meet at 11:15 and get seated within a few minutes we won't get our food until close to 12 anyhow.

I'm going to post a list of who is coming to the meet on the first page. Please check to see that I have the correct information for your party.

Wow that would be great if you made it all the way from Canada! Are you going to vacation down this way?

Scratch42

But it's only an 8 hour drive so if I get the Friday off I can travel on the Friday and then make it to the meet on Saturday!

If I get the Monday, well, driving at night is not my thing anymore, especially when I don't know where I am going!LOL

So that's why not sure whether or not can make it. My boss is the type to let us know the last minute if and when we get time off!

Plus can one not get a Philly Steak Sandwich in the area?LOL

I'll keep you posted!

Can Anyone Recommend a Nice but on the Cheap side Motel?

It looks like it may be 75% that I can make it! Better start planning now!

Scratch give me an idea where you want to stay. There are a variety of places in King of Prussia or other neighboring towns. The King of Prussia mall is HUGE so you could spend the day there if you are a shopper. Are you planning on seeing some sights here such as Valley Forge or Philadelphia? Hershey is a little less than 2 hours away. Let me know if you have a desire to visit somewhere else otherwise I can recommend some hotels for you right in the area.

kpgclark
07-23-2004, 12:32 PM
By the way, this Motel6 is right across the street from the mall, has openings, and is $55/night. I've never stayed there so I don't know anything about it, but here's the link

http://motel6.com/reservations/motel_detail.asp?MotelId=1280

There are also lots of other big chains in the King of Prussia area.

I will be leaving Toronto at approx. 12:00 noon on Friday. We have Monday off but Dave said I could leave as long as I have Payroll done!

I'll be in touch!

The two that battle over it are Ginos and Pat's although just about every sandwich place has one. I can tell you a good place in the next town over but you have to take out rather than eat in.

It does not look like I will be coming down to meet you guys.

Apparently our Customs Officials are doing a Work To Rule and the wait times at the Border are approximately 2 - 3 hours!

Hope You all Have a Great Meet! Maybe next time!
