We were looking at the Courtyard but it doesn't have a pool (would like a pool as we will be traveling in late June). The Fairfield Inn does have a pool but I am just not sure about it. Any suggestions about a decent, clean place with a pool?

We stopped in Florence on our spring break trip - stayed at the Hampton Inn - a great outside pool and super AAA rate, also includes breakfast in the am. I would recommend it!

I would personally recommend that you not stay at the Fairfield Inn in Florence. I am usually a fan of this chain, but found this one different from the rest. It seemed older, had outdoor hallways and was overrun by noisy teen tour groups.

I recommend the fairfield. It is the only one I will stop at on the way down. It has a good reputation and all Fairfields are always clean. They are also the safest if you saw that special a while back.
Our first year we stopped at a budget motel, recommended by AAA only to awake at 2 am with cockroaches swarming everywhere. I used to live in NYC and never saw anything like that. So it is worth to pay extra to make sure it is clean. I don't remember which motel it was but I believe it was the only one in florence with an indoor pool.

We stayed at the Springhill Suites in Florence last November. It had just opend and was great. Had a nice indoor pool and hot tub. All rooms were suites. It is a great location - near the mall and a lot of restaurants. Depending on when you are traveling, you might enjoy the indoor pool.

Another vote for the Hampton Inn. There are two Hampton Inns in Florence. We stayed at the one by the Civic Center twice last November. Hotel was clean, easy to find and has refrigerators in the rooms.

we like the Hampton Inn chain & have stayed in several up & down I95. I know there are two Hampton Inns in Florence. I would NOT stay again at the one on US 52 - it did not live up to the quality one expects at a Hampton Inn. However, they did back up their room guarantee policy - it cost us nothing the next morning. I have heard good things about the other Hampton Inn that Aunt Cawa mentioned.

I second the Springhill Suites in Florence. We use to live there and this is a very nice area.

Thanks for the replies. I looked in to the Hampton Inn for our dates and the rate is $89 (AAA rate) - that seems a little steep for just an overnight stay. The Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites is $69 and Springhill Suites is $80. Is it worth the extra $ for an overnight stay. I mean if Springhill Suites is that much nicer of course the $11 is worth it but if they are about the same why not save the $. Any advice?

For $11, I would stay at the hotel that is the newest.
