We always do this on the first night and, because we fly indirect it's usually 7 pm-ish when we arrive and we're ready for crashing out. Therefore we like to stay near to the airport and at TG Lee Boulevard (about a mile north of the airport - couldn't be easier to find) are lots of the standard chains offering good deals.

A few times I've used Fairfield Inn by Marriott http://marriott.com/property/propertyPage/MCOFA and got a good rate ($49.99) and I also think Hampton Inn http://www.hamptoninn.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml;jsessionid=V0BUMDQMLBFUGCSGBIWM22QKIYF C5UUC?ctyhocn=MCOAPHX usually has good deals too. Both of these include buffet breakfasts in the rate (cereals, muffins, juice, fruit - that sort of thing).

If I'm arriving earlier and want to make my way to the LBV area then I would again look for one of those chains in that area.

They are not always very cheap - depends on time of year etc, but you can get the cost down a little by being a member of the AA (and getting the AAA discount).

Thanks,
BTW, I didn't know AA was recognised for the AAA discounts I've seen.

I use http://www.hotwire.com a lot for odd night or two bookings, it's a little bit of a gamble as you don't know the hotel until after you commit to the booking, but you know the area and the * rating, I've yet to have a hotel I've been dissapointed in for the cost.
