New ship...no longer a rumor

DCL president announced today that Imagineers and architects are partnering to design a third DCL ship and possibly a fourth.

They have not chosen a shipyard, so it will be a few years. The itinerary is not determined either. (pray for Alaska!)

They'd probably still use the DCL terminal in Florida as a base. Maybe trips to Bermuda are next. Alaska would be AWESOME tho..

This topic is called New ship...no longer a rumor. I hate to say this, but I would still consider this just a rumor.

When and where did "DCL president" announce this?

Where's the announcement? Is there a press release? A newspaper article? Proceedings from a trade show?

DCLfan has no track record on the DIS boards. He or she posted this item here and on the Disney Cruise Line board. That's all he or she has ever posted, at least under this name. (There's a regular at the Cruise Line board named DCL-Fan, but notice the hyphen.)

Recently, someone claiming to be a DVC-Guide (salesperson) posted a fake announcement that a new Disney Vacation Club location was official.

I wouldn't take this "announcement" seriously either. At least DCLfan hasn't provided any evidence that would lead me to believe the "announcement."

Even if it were true....I think the first New Ship would go to there new route they already announced. Starting in 2002 there will be western and eastern Caribbean cruises.
