I read a great tip regarding the parade: Be in Africa when the parade returns at the end. I totally want to try this, cuz my DH rants on and on about waiting forever for parades to start. (HATE that) So, my question is, approx. what time does the 4:00 parade return to Africa? Anyone know? I have no idea how long it takes for them to go around the whole parade route.

Also, my father in law will be driving an ECV. I have read that DAK is kind of difficult to get around in a wheelchair. Anyone have any suggestions of where not to try going? He can walk, just not for very long. (15 minutes or so max)

It will get there sometime right around 4:30 or a wee bit after.
We caught it at the end on Sunday, then followed it right to the safari and walked right on.

We had both my FIL and MIL use ECV. They really needed them to get aroung AK. MyMIL walked around most of parks but AK was at the end of our trip and it was just to much walking. We had no problem get around AK with the ECV. But, we rented one ECV at the park and rented one from an outside srouce. The one from the park had almost no power when you compared it to the other ECV. Have a great trip.:D

To me, the ground is very un-even in some places for a EVC. The park designers messed up on that one.:rolleyes:

An ECV should be no problem at AK, but we took my MIL who used a regular wheelchair and believe me, it was a workout! You don't realize how hilly that park is until you push someone around it in a wheelchair. The pavement is very rough in some areas, too, and it makes it even more challenging.
