Rainforest Cafe Review ~ Niagara Falls

Hi, we just got back from a HOT day in Niagara Falls. We had lunch at the NEW Rainforest Cafe. When the server asked if we've been to a RFC before, we told her that we've been to the Yorkdale RFC several times. She said that IT IS NOW CLOSED! And all the furnishings are in Niagara Falls. News to me!

I think the Niagara Falls RFC is about the same size (right now) as Yorkdale, of course the set up is a little different. Instead of a rhino in the water like Toronto's RFC, there is a cool, scary gator! But we didn't see it until we left, sort of off to the side. The washroom had an attendant with lots of goodies, like Hard Rock in Universal. (By the way, don't you HATE WDW powdered soap!).

I thought the food was a little less tasty than Toronto's RFC, but I was never a fan of RFC food, I go for the atmosphere.

The staff was very nice! Lots of staff and very friendly.

No wait at 11:30 am, which is nice too.

All in all, it was pretty nice. I like RFC and wish it much success in NF!

Hi Sandra. Somehow the Rainforest Cafe reminds me of Disney, even though I've never been to the Orlando ones. DH just took the children to the Niagara Falls version last weekend, while I did some serious shopping with my Mom, and they had a great time. They really liked the 'gator, too.

Sandra, I think your server was mistaken. Yorkdale is my local mall, and RFC was alive and well a week or so ago. I think your server was referring to the RFC at Scarborough Town Centre in eastern Toronto, which closed up several months ago.

Cindy, I agree with you ~ RFC reminds me of Disney too. It must be the anitatronics. You are right about the Yorkdale RFC too, dh refered to it as Scarborough.

Although I don't love the food and I find it very expensive, I still like RFC for the atmosphere.

We'll be going to the DIS meet at the end of the month. Hope the volcano works by then.

I was surprised to read that Yorkdale RFC was closed. But I know for certain that the one at STC is closed. I only went twice. Found the food a bit pricey and portions too small (you know me). LOL! Anyways, sounds great! :)

Yorkdale RFC is officially alive and well! We ate there today with the children before taking them to see 'Atlantis'.

I am soooooo glad Yorkdale RFC is open. I was planning to take dd and 3 of her friends there in December for dd's 8th birthday party and a sleep over!

Thanks Cindy! It was my silly dh's fault for telling me Yorkdale was closed, the server DID say Scarborough. DH thinks any place east of Square One is Scarborough! LOL!
