We got to the boat dock at BWV at 8, only to find out the boat to MGM had just sailed--it would be 15 until another one and a 15 minute trip--so we walked. It wasn't too far and we beat the boat anyhow.
At 8:30 we got into the park and went to Sunset Blvd. to wait at the rope. DH followed his instructions to the letter. At rope drop Kelly and I followed the CMs to R&RC, while DH took Erin and Ryan to ToT to get FPs. It worked like a charm. Kelly and I were on the second car out. When we got out Bill and I baby swapped and he took Kelly on(Erin is still too short). By the time we were both done it was time for our FP! I went on ToT first--I forgot this one does things to my stomach, but it's fun. They did NOT take our FP tickets, BTW, I still have them! Then Bill went on with the girls. Our plan was to go to Millionaire, which we did, but we had just missed the 10:30 and didn't want to sit for an hour, so we got FPs for the 12:30 show and went off to Sci-Fi. We had planned desserts only, but DH was starved so we actually ate excellent hamburgers. DH LOVED the atmosphere in there. We then went to the Millionaire show. It was really cool--I was 9th after fastest-finger, but didn't place after that. I was taking too long because I knew all the answers. I asked DH if we could do standby for the 1:30 and he said OK. We went in again. The same kid had carried over. After his 32,000 question I was in 5th place (I went up as the questions got harder). His 64,000 question was "what was Aimee Semple McPherson famous for in the 1920s?" I knew this, don't ask me how, and I answered "religion" right away. DD#1 did as well. The kid walked away. They posted the top scores up to #2, which was DD#1! Then they posted the top score and it was ME!!! I about lost it. Amazingly enough the host that time was from Toledo as well. I answered everything up to 32,000. The 32,000 question was,
Which of the following is NOT a water sign? Cancer, Aquarius, Scorpio, Pisces.
Well I knew cancer and pisces were, and aquarius is "the water bearer", so I with absolute certainty picked scorpio. I was WRONG!!!! I was crushed, but it was fun to be up there. The "aqua" threw me, I guess. If I'd thought it through, Aquarius is right before Pisces and there are never two water signs in a row. Oh well. The prize giver CM said she had already checked me off for 32,000, and DH said there was an audible gasp when I missed. I was back down to 1,000, so I got 5 pins and a hat. DD#1 kept saying "I can't believe I was second!" All day long! I had a nice chat with the host too since we are from the same area.
After that, what to do? We went to the Muppet movie (it was raining a little bit), then I did star tours with the girls since DH had done it last year--this was another stomach-churner for me. I will not be doing it again (Or Body Wars!) Then we caught the Hunchback show and went to our Fantasmic dinner at Mama Melrose. After than we shopped around a while, DH took the girls on ToT again, and at 8:15 we went in to the Fantasmic! arena. The non-saved seats were already packed full! I was amazed! Fantasmic itself was really good, the kids were awestruck by it. We walked back to BWV. The kids wanted to swim but we were all pretty bushed so we passed on that. We made microwave popcorn and all fell asleep pretty early.
