I purchased a bunch of seats on a 11/22 flight on ATA thru expedia. (one credit card, 9 people, 3 itineraries. I can't do that directly thru the airlines) When I put a hold on the seats thru travelocity, they let me pick the seats to hold. When I decided to try expedia and booked thru them, I was "told" that they can not assign seats. Do I call ATA and have them assign us seats? I don't want a cattle call, since there are 9 of us. I also don't want them to over book the plane and end up leaving some of us behind for a later flight.

Also, are they partnered with any of the other airlines like SW is with Delta? If there is a problem with the flight and it is delayed, will they try to put us on another flight with another carrier? Or are they stricktly ATA or bust?

Thanks!

After reading your post a few minutes ago, I called. Chrissy happily assigned us seats. I did find out that we already had the assignments, but expedia did not tell me that. <grumble, grumble> Expedia put us in row 27, but we got switched to row 16 and 17, plus there are lots of empty seats around us for now for the other party that has not gotten back to me yet. (another grumble, LOL)

Sometimes I feel like Elaine on Sinfeld when she goes to the doctor and she catches them making notes in her file about her being a "pain". I can just imagine that is what places are doing when I call to ask a silly question.:p

Thanks again!

(no fair making notes in my DIS file....)

If you book with the ATA website they also let you pick your seat assignments after showing you a chart of the seats on the plane and which one is open. Very nice setup. Another cool thing that ATA has is though Sabre's Virtually there web site. Just go to http://www.virtuallythere.com and put in your confirmation code and the last name that the reservation is under. It will show you information on the reservation and other details. We have used ATA numerous times through the years and have never had a problem with them, or the seats who chose.
