View Full Version : Last hockey of the season!!

DDs hockey team is at the OWHA provincials this weekend, and although there are high hopes for the team I won't be sorry to see the end of the season. This will be our 8th tournament (the girls won last weekend in Brampton) and we're all a little burned out.
Unfortunately I won't see Sherry (their team didn't qualify) but if you find yourself at Meadowvale Arena this weekend, say hi to the guy in the white Tilley hat.

Good luck to your daughter Mike. Hope the team does well . I always hated when the season ended that is why I loved summer hockey and hockey school I was on the ice about 6 days a week 12 months a year.

Hope your DD brings home the gold.::yes::
My DD was just commenting on the season being over and wishing it would start up again. Sort of missing the fact that we did not make it but not to sad to have the season over. ( me that is)

My dad always wore his Florida Gators *knitted* beret to my brothers' games...How "jaunty" was that??!!!LOL!!

They won both games today - 2-0 against Aurora and 3-2 vs. Etobicoke. (They outshot Etobicoke 29-9.) So we're off for pizza and a well deserved trip to the pool.

That's great Mike...
We have 2 hockey teams staying in our motel this weekend and my debit/C.C. machine broke at 5:20 today...Stressful.
Hope all is well and the even though you are tired that you are just as proud...

Well, the girls managed to battle through a horrible first playoff game against Guelph and then beat Bluewater to make it to the semis this morning. They play Durham West (arguably the best team in the province) this morning. At least they've had plenty of sleep tonight. Thabks for all the best wishes.

Is your daughters team Peewee AA? If so, I hear they beat Durham this morning...I work with a lady who's daughter is on the Durham Peewee AA team and she just came out to shinny and said they lost....they apparently never lose.

I was thinking about you and Sherry this weekend Mike. We just got back from spending the weekend at the Stage West and the place was crawling with girls hockey teams! I hope that your DD's team did well in the finals.

Congrats on your DD's wins. Sounds like an exciting and exhausting time.!!!!

Great news, Mike! Congratulations to your DD and her team for a job well done! :)

Man, what a weekend! The girls brought home the PeeWee AA gold medal this afternoon with a 3-2 overtime win against Willowdale. They beat Durham 2-0 in the semis this morning (DD had the shutout) and you're right - this Durham team almost never loses.
Amy's up having a well-deserved (and needed ::yes:: ) shower and if any of us had any voice left we'd still be whooping it up. This year has been the longest season ever, but you don't mind so much when it ends like this. I'll have to post some pictures when I get the camera downloaded.
Thanks to all of you for your support. I'm going to bed. :p

I love the color GOLD-Excellent news Mike.
I heard overtime games were the theme this year. DH has a friend at work whose daughter plays Midget and that game went 7 periods, also an Oshawa team went a few overtime periods also.

Fabulous news Mike!!
Did you take today off to recooperate? It's pretty quiet around here anyways.
Now you can relax for a while or does she play summer games as well.
Have a great day!!

Thanks. There was a nice article about the team in today's Free Press - the link to it is here (http://www.canoe.ca/NewsStand/LondonFreePress/Sports/2004/04/20/428974.html), but will likely be up for only today. DD must have read it over about a dozen times this morning. :cool2:
