Hi Darren. So sorry to hear about your knee. I know that you guys had prepared for this news, but it's still tough all the same. :( I just sent you an e-mail.

Thanks Maryliz I kew it was coming to that but it doesn't make it any better I hate operations and have had enough of them on my knees to know how painfull and long and drawn out they can be. Now I get to wait till they call me with the date for it I think the waiting is the worst part.

Hi Darren,

Sorry to hear about your knee. I think the waiting will be the worst part of everything. Hopefully the result though will be great!!

Take care and lots of pixie dust.

Thanks for the well wishes it makes this alot easier knowing we have a close knit family (dis) family.

Awww, I'm so sorry to hear about your upcoming knee operation and having to postpone your next trips, Darren.

Well, we'll just have to have more London DIS Meets to help you through it all! :)

no thoughts about banking your points for a blow-out vacation in a Grand Villa, or a concierge trip...or a cruise...???

Wait...just saw you're planning a cruise in 2006...:)

04-14-2004, 04:08 PM

Hi Darren,
So sorry about your knee. I'm going to talk to DH tonight about this. It really makes more sense than waiting for codes. I'll email you when I know more.

04-14-2004, 05:05 PM
Ok nancy thanks very much.

04-14-2004, 05:06 PM
Sorry to hear about your knee Darren! It's better to rest and get better, that way when you go to Disney, you'll enjoy yourself :)

I'll have to look at how to rent points ... I've always made ressies through CRO, so I have no experience in renting from DVC. Let me know if you have any points leftover. I'd be willing to try and use some on my October trip :)

04-14-2004, 05:29 PM
I will let you know Bunnyfoo and will get back to you as soon as Ihave a final number for points .
I hope this gets done sooner than later I hate being in constant pain from it it really sucks. Knee injuries are terrible as they hamper mobility and mae you rely on others to get you around especially if it is your right leg like mine is. I can't even drive to the mall to get out for a bit.

04-14-2004, 06:05 PM
Thanks Darren! A co-worker of mine had a knee injury a couple of months ago after he slipped in the park. Even though he lived across the street from our office, it still took him more than 20 minutes to get to work. Maybe you can start some new debates on the debate boards :)

04-14-2004, 06:06 PM
I know how hard it is to rely on others -- sort of. My DS severely sprained his ankle last Thursday playing basketball. He's on crutches and we go for the first physio tomorrow. At this point he can't put any weight on the foot and he's starting to realize that this isn't going to go away in a day or two. He's 17, almost 18 and it's not sitting all that well with him that it could very well be 4-6 weeks before he's feeling better. He hates the fact that he can't do things that he would normally not think twice about -- esp. getting a snack and taking it to his room -- with his crutches he can't carry a plate!! This is major stuff for a teenage boy.

Hope you are scheduled for surgery sooner rather than later so that you can then start the recovery process that much sooner too.

Pixie dust is flying your way -- please catch it!

04-14-2004, 06:39 PM
Oh I know with the crutches it is a pain to try and do anything you can't carry anything and forget about getting around in smaler rooms or isles in the stores it just doesn't work. I will start a debate on knee surgury and see how it goes hehehe.

04-14-2004, 07:07 PM
Sorry to hear about your knee and the pain you are in..hopefully you will be back to 100% before you know it!
Grover in Winnipeg :)

04-14-2004, 08:11 PM
I hope that you have a successful surgery and a good recovery and can start to feel like you will have your life back soon.

04-14-2004, 08:18 PM
Sorry to hear about your knee Darren. I hope you don't have to wait too long for your surgery and are feeling like new again soon. :) You don't want to keep Mickey waiting too long before he sees you guys again. ;)

04-14-2004, 09:10 PM
Thanks everyone it is much appreciated you guys are great what a loving family we have here you make everything feel all warm and fuzzy.

04-14-2004, 09:15 PM
:grouphug: LOL

04-14-2004, 09:31 PM
Darren so sorry to hear about the knee...I have hip problems and am thinking that our Sept trip will be the last before I have to do something about getting it fixed too. Hope you get the surgery date soon so you can plan things out! I already rented DVC points for BCV for our Sept trip - can't wait - but would have gladly worked with you if we weren't already set! Hope those points go quickly. Take Care, Jo

04-15-2004, 06:59 AM
That is such a bummer! Hope you get a surgery date real soon so that you can get back on your feet again! Uncle Mickey says "HI"!

Like Julie says, more London DisMeets!

BTW, if the crowds this past weekend are any indication of what the parks are gonna be like, you will definately need two good legs!LOL

Pixie Dust for a speedy recovery!

04-15-2004, 08:05 AM
We hope your surgery is soon and you are on your way to recovery and back to the parks. Good luck with renting the points too. I'm sure you will have no problems. See you soon at our next meet.

04-15-2004, 08:09 AM
Knees can be a major pain!!! Sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with yours, Darren. I hope the surgery has you up and at it, asap! :)

04-15-2004, 08:16 AM
Hey Darren,

I hope you are able to get in sooner with a cancellation. I've had this ligament problem in my leg for a few months now and I can't believe what a pain it is. I can't imagine if I had to throw crutches into the mix. The worst part is getting up or down from a sitting position. Since my sisters and I are joining other WISHer's at the half marathon in January I'm hoping that it will be healed soon so that I can start training in ernest. I am able to ride a bike though so that is helping I think.

Praying for a quick surgery date and a quick, problem free recovery for you.

Take care,

Lynda Silk
