Do they still do the paintbrush hunt on Tom Sawyers Island? We did this back in 2001 but unsure whether they still do it or not? Also, what time does the first raft go over there?

Thanks
Beth

I've heard that they've stopped hiding paintbrushes on the island. Another unfortunate "cutback"- it obviously couldn't have been for financial reasons, so I have no idea why WDW stopped this.

I don't know about this paintbush thing you are talking about. Although it is apparently gone now, could you explain what it was?

They did it on our trip last April.

The first boatload of people over to the island are told that Tom and Huck hid their paintbrushes so they could goof off. If you find a brush you return it to the Cm and your family gets a front of the line pass to any of the mountain rides. My kids have been finding them for the last 3 years.

One guy that I talk to on another board works at Splash and Tom Sawyer's Raft. He just told me the other day that they still hide the paintbrushes... and if you find one and return it to the Raft driver you get a family fastpass for either Splash or Thunder Mountain.

Thannks for the info. I'm glad they are still doing it.

We did this on during our trip back in 2001. The kids plus my husband had a blast looking for the painbrushes. We did manage to find one paintbrush up in a sitting area at the top of a little hill. It was pretty exciting.

We used ours to ride Splash Mountain.
