I've heard that the River Roost Lounge allows children. Has anyone been there? What's it like?

Yes kids are allowed. You must go and see Bob. He puts on a great show there several nights a week. He plays a piano and sings funny songs. We went with the kids and had a few drinks and appetizers. The kids loved the show and so did we. We are going to the French Quarter in 8 days and we will be going over to see the show again. Get there a little early to get a good seat. We are all looking foward to it.

crzy4dsny: How old are your children? We also are heading for POFQ (May 5 -11) and our grandchildren are 2 & 4. Would they be too young to enjoy Bob's show? What time do you get there (early you said) to get a good seat? Thanks for any info you can provide! It will be our first time at POFQ - can't wait. My daughter said when she told our 4 yr. old granddaughter she was going to Disney she started jumping up and down and pee'd her pants!! She had been to Disney last year and still remembers all the characters she saw and the Castle. This will be our first time there with her and our grandson and my DH and I can't wait to see WDW thru their eyes!!!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

When we went they were 2,4, and 5. They all enjoyed the show. My 2 year old liked it the best. She was the only one of them who wanted to go up and meet him and get his autograph. I think we got there about 20 min. before the show started and the place was empty. Once the show starts it gets packed.

What type of show is it and what does Bob do? Is it singing? I think my kids (5 years) will like it, too. Thanks for the info.

We stayed at POR on our last trip. A few times at night, when my wife was exhausted from a full day at the parks, I would take a walk around the grounds with our kids (ages 9,6,4) and stop at "the Lounge" and watch Bob perform his magic on the ivory keys (er., piano). Yes it is a lounge and alcohol is served, but it is a family lounge as well (though kids should sit and watch and not interfere with his show). He plays an amazing variety of tunes and is able to play every request. So yes he not only sings, he puts on a little show (hand clapping, toe tapping, piano slapping) and the atmosphere is very upbeat. We enjoyed watching him, and he is a must see if you are staying at POR.
