I can't find the thread discussing watershoes. Feeling rather dumb to ask these questions, but here goes... What kind of shoes do your kids wear? Or can they go barefoot? Do you wear regular shoes and take water shoes?

haha, i love how you're asking about water shoes and your name is "Sandy Feet" lol

My little kids (6 and 6 twins) wore regular shoes to the park and then water shoes. Oldest dd didn't wear shoes.

My boys hate water shoes (they are too snug for them!) so I bought them flip flops (the adidas kind, rubber and vinyl) instead. I am hoping this will work for the water parks. I'm sure they'll take them off to go on the rides but where them to walk around. I'll be doing more "spectating" since I don't like water rides so I guess I'll be the "keeper of the shoes"!

Yep, thats us-Sandy Feet, no shoes if we can help it!
I'm sure my kids would just want to wear regular shoes and take them off for the rides!
After posting my questions I realised the water parks might not be open in early December. From what I saw it looks like Blizzard is open but not typhoon. So maybe we shouldn't bother getting the "plus" feature on the park hoppers.

I have had really good luck at WalMart. I buy my boys light weight water friendly sandles that are sold in the bulk flip flop / sandle section. They are sold under the Laguna brand and last year cost $4.83. There are no buckles or ties, they do not totally encase the foot, plenty of air reachese the toes and best part is they just slip on, they are also very light so if they accidently kick someone it would be no different than a water shoe. It is so hard getting those fat feet in the water shoes, I love these.

It also works good for walking to the park and is one less thing to lose once I am there!

I believe these are the only type of shoes actually permitted on the slides in the water parks. If you are wearing any type of shoe other than a water sock, they will ask you to remove them and throw them down the slide just before you go (they'll be waiting for you at the bottom). I highly recommend the water socks though, since the ground can be rather rough where they laid down sand strips to keep people from slipping.

Have a magical trip!

Yes, they're water shoes. Basically, they're shoes that fit like a sock. They are usually mesh and neoprene uppers, with a hard rubber sole.
Here's a link to a pic...(not a recommendation)
