 I got in 45 minutes on the elliptical, but after that I was done, my knees have been killing me lately.

I just got back from a 40 min walk. I have also done some crunches and some weights for my arms. Thanks for starting this thread everyday, hopefully it will be the motivation I need!!

I just got a treadmill, a pretty nice one. It was on sale at Sports Authority. Once DH and I got it put together (whew!) we both tried it out. I have done the 30 minute programmed workout and the 20 minute (plus 5 more on Manual) and I really love it. I felt great after the workouts - no soreness the next AM. Any reasons why I can't do this every day? Should I vary the intensity or length? It comes with 4 preprogrammed workouts, plus it is very easy to adjust as I am using it. Any suggestions are welcome!

I did 3.96 miles on the treadmill (tried to jog to 4.00 but my time ran out) then I decided to try the stairmaster today. I wasn't thrilled, I can burn more calories on the treadmill but at least I am working some differant muscle's, I did 40 flights.

I try to do the treadmill everyday, also either weight lifting or other cardio activities. But one of the trainers at the Y says that you need at least one day off to give your body a rest, or you could hurt yourself. I don't know, I feel pretty good when I work out, and I am known to push myself (usually have the treadmill at an incline of 15 for my whole workout), so i'm not to worried about hurting myself. I would say listen to your body. If your just starting out exercising or if your body is getting tired.....give yourself a break. If you feel fine with what your doing......go for it.

I walked down on the Lakewalk today in the brisk cold. Very windy. Feels good to do it, though. I have been walking to the one mile marker and back, since it is the perfect amount of time for me to fit in right now. It felt so great! I try to keep the pace up while I go, but the scenery is so gorgeous that sometimes I kind of drift away in thought. I figure this is okay, though, right? It's all about body AND mind, or so I've heard...
Hope all your days are ending up nicely!

I did my warmup on the treadmill, hit the weight plan I'm developing (thanks April for the women's weightlifting site), then went back on the treadmill for 45 minutes for a total of 3 miles. Ended the workout with abdominal crunches and an abdominal exercise I learned on from a Pilates video.
DisBo-you can do the treadmill everyday, but I would say out of a week take a day off or just do a 30 minute walk. Your body will do better with rest. I was doing it every day, and missed one and was very upset until I saw how much better I did on one day's rest. Like gshoe said, go by how you feel. If you are tired, don't push. When you get stronger, try interval training, which mixes up walking and jogging, and/or increasing and decreasing the incline. It makes your body burn the calories differently because you are challenged in a different way than the regular routine. I am doing this now hoping it will knock me out of my plateau.
Good Luck!
