Oh boy...my first shot at Atkins didn't go so well :( I really don't think I had my head in the right place (lol) and even though I thought I was eating right...every day I was "sneaking" in things I knew I shouldn't eat. Recently, my next door neighbor and her DH started Atkins and SEEING her lose 16 lbs already, inspired me to give it a shot again!
It's only been 2 days, but I can honestly say, I've really stuck to it. Drinking my 8 glasses of water a day, eating eggs (and bacon or sausage) for breakfast, hamburger at lunch (sans the bun ofcourse!) with 0.5 cucumber slices and eating a healthy low Carb meal at dinner....I haven't even had the urge to snack! WAHOOO!
Yesterday I wasn't even CLOSE to 20 Carbs and today, I added a little cheese so my carb intake was a tad more, but I think I am still at 8 before I even eat dinner!
Here's hoping the next 12 days stay as easy for me as the first 2 ::yes::

Hi Sydally,

Atkins is my WOE, too. I know it can get hard. I think one of the hardest things about this WOE is that it requires almost perfection. One piece of candy, or cake, etc. can throw your whole day. It might take you three or four days to get into ketosis, but you can get out in an hour of over indulgence. BUT, there's no plan that is so rewarding, so fast, if you are true to it. That doesn't mean the fat just melts off of you, but if I'm in ketosis, and I am keeping my calories lower, I KNOW I am burning stored fat. And THAT is what I want!

Keep going.......I know you'll do it this time. Think of it for the long haul. If you're doing ATkins 365 days of the year but you mess up on 30 of those days,..........so what?? You are going to be so much closer to your goal at the end of that year and so much healthier!:) ( I wish I would have done this in 2003. I messed around after losing 45 pounds. Not going to do THAT again. )

Coming here helps too. It has done a lot for me.

Have you thought about joining the Mother's day challenge?? That would keep the motivation up also.

See ya around...........:wave2:

Good luck, Holly!! :) I started Atkins in late September and lost 20 pounds pretty easily. I've kept them off, but I haven't lost any more since Thanksgiving. (Need to quit cheating!)
