I went to change a few things in my profile and to my shocking disgust I saw I now had a homepage - I can't even type what the homepage was to!

I am utterly sick! To make a long story short - got a bad/infected email ran rampage through our system - system then reformatted with start up disc(2weeks later when nothing else worked) - couldn't let DD near or on the computer because we never knew what would "pop up" at her and now this!

I removed the "homepage" and submitted changes - rechecked and it was back - the I used Cut to remove it and put in a family photo site on yahoo - submitted changes and although the yahoo page doesn't show up neither does the "homepage"

I sometimes check peoples profiles - especially if they post something that reminds me of my own life - like to see if there are any other similarities - and it HORRIFIES ME to think that someone could check my profile and see that "homepage" as my own.

I am a mother nurse wife friend I love nature disney I care about the environment and love animals - I AM NOT into these sick sites in any way. :(

You got hijacked - it is fixable but you have some work to do. Hit www.google.com and enter in "browser hijack" for some good links on how to fix this problem. Here is one of the links you will find:

Hope this helps.

Good luck,

BTW - I just checked your profile and no homepage was listed there.

You may also want to consider downloading and installing two programs you can get from www.download.com. They are Spybot Search and Destroy and Adaware. Both remove spyware and potentially unsafe stuff from your computer. What Spybot misses, Adaware usually finds, and vice versa.

We had the same problems on our computer. We run Ad-aware a couple times a week and haven't had the problem since.

YIKES! This homepage was put into your DIS profile??? How scary is that...now I've got to go check my profile and make sure there is nothing untoward, there. Thanks for the heads up.
