Not yet - but I'm seriously considering booking this cruise while on-board the 4/29 3-day Wonder. 11/14 is my daughter's birthday - she'll be 8, and my husband's birthday is 11/16. We were discussing doing this cruise to celebrate both their birthdays. The price seems right so far as well. I'll let you know if we end up booking.

Great! I am looking forward to getting to know a few people before the cruise. This will be our 1st cruise and we are excited..... It will be my 11-year-old son (he will be 12 by then) and me....

We're going to be in 5650.
Looking forward to it! It will be our first cruise and we're hoping to have a great time! pirate:

Hi Stuart.. Dh and I are first time cruisers on this cruise. We are DVC members and have a Nav. Verandah on deck 5! I am a serious Disney planner and this cruise stuff has me all confused, I never though I'd be able to do one. It's so costly! I am busy reading, planning, reading and planning! We are thinking of doing the Atlantis Beach day in Nassau. BUT all that could change! :wave2:
(By the way, I checked out your photos on your website... You both look like really fun folks! I'll bet you had a great time! I especially loved the pic of you both with Mickey and Minnie in front of the castle! )
StuartMI
04-23-2004, 08:20 AM
Hi there! - hehe - yeah, we're total suckers for character photos and autographs. We had a tonne of them, as you saw. As you also quickly noticed, the one of DW and I with Mickey/Minnie in front of the castle is one of our favs! See how there are no people around? That's because we got into the park early because we had CRT ressies and just happened to bump into Minnie/Mickey on our way up the road. It couldn't have been better too on the first full day of our honeymoon there.
That's cool you're on deck 5 -- so are we! - We're in the "Barb&Tony suite" (as they apparantly like to call it) which is #5650. It's the furthest-stern room on the starboard side and prior to that we're staying 3 nights at the Beach Club in Concierge.
We still havent' thought too much about shore excursions yet since its still pretty far away however I know DW will want to go parasailing at Castaway Key and we both are doing several spa treatments.
Glad you liked the photos! :D

We are in 5138? I think. I believe it is close to you. We are driving in early, staying Sat nite at the Radission... Not sure if it will be ok though. Then after the cruise we head to the Keys and are staying there for 4 nights... going to the Homestead Nascar race. After the race we go to spend the rest of Thanksgiving week at Disney's Vero Beach resort.
I WAS supposed to be in a Studio at the Beach Club THIS WEEK... but... Dh is working out of town and would loose serious $$$ if we took the week off. Plus our AP's expire next week. Sooo, no WDW this year.. I don't know how I'll stand it or even if I'll make it.... I
am hoping that the Curise and Vero will give me enough of a fix to make it to January. We usually spend 5 or 6 weeks at WDW and we just returned from 10 days at Christmas at Pop Century, then over MLK week for another week. I am not really sure if I'll make it! Looking forward to meeting you!

DH, DS (17) & I will be on this cruise too! We are in 6042 or is it 6040, anyway are very good friends from Chicago (Perdita) are in the room we are not. Counting down and planning things since we booked it in December. Can't wait!!!:sunny:
Add us to the list! It will be me (38), DH (40) and DD (5) along with my brother's family. Melynny, don't you dare mention the Nascar race to my husband or you may find yourself with a stow-a-way in the trunk of your car! We'll also be staying the night prior at the Radisson (we stayed there last year and it was great), but then heading over to the Beach Club Villas for a few nights after the cruise.
Ahoy, Mateys!:p

05-03-2004, 03:13 PM

And Melynny, I dont think there's a 5138 is there?
Melynny
05-05-2004, 12:35 PM
I am not sure.. I thought it was a Nav. Verandah... I just checked the deck plans on Dis and it is says it's there, and nav verandah.
So, I have the Parking package at the Radission. I am now feeling concerned about the "security" of doing that. I am guessing that there will be some kind of notation of what kind of car we have and that we will "definately" not be there to check on it for a specified amount of time. This would be a good opportunity for a theft. Will any of you be leaving your cars there, also? Would I be better off parking at the port, which I know has security? Thanks.. sounds like we'll have quite a group! I can't wait for CC!

Hi! As Tinkerbel129 said above we are in the cabin next to them - Cat 6 Room 6040 (Lori that puts you in 6042, lol!). We are myself 40, DH 40, DD 7 & DD 1.
We have stayed at the Raddy the night prior on our previous 3 cruises, but are staying at WDW for 3 days before this time so we can enjoy the Food & Wine Festival which closes 11/14 (so we couldn't go after the cruise).
We just booked the CA-FL repo cruise yesterday (also with Tink129 ;) ).

Add us to the list too! It will be me(38), dh(40) and dd(12). Our dd doesn't know yet, but she will be soooo excitied about it being a pin cruise! We have one of the secret porthole rooms, I can't remember which cabin right now. And oh by the way, we are Preb's family, she was talking about!

I'll be 29 in October. Do I win a prize?
Now I feel the need to point out that Cindybeth will actually be 39 and her DH will be 41 when they set sail!:p
She has issues with telling her real age...which is MUCH, MUCH older then me!:p
Stuart, it appears that you'll be the "young adult" of the group, so make sure and take good care of your elders! And Cindybeth and her husband are definately Spartans, so watch those "Go Blue" cracks!;)
CindyBeth
05-11-2004, 11:29 PM
Ok, I think that Preb is the one with age issues!!! She is ONLY 6 months younger than me! So right now we are the same age, but those other 6 months....she can't let it go that I'm older than her. I secretly think that she is just jealous of the fact that I am older than her and more mature and so on!!!!
StuartMI, it's ok to say Go Blue, if you don't mind if I say Go Green!

05-12-2004, 01:41 AM
so, does the yung'un buy us all drinks??? :hyper:
StuartMI
05-12-2004, 08:18 AM
Yeah, sure. Although I'll have to drink two for each one that I buy you old fogies. I realize you're all getting frail and infirm in your old age and understand that you all can't hold your liquor like you did in the past.
DW's birthday is actually Nov 12th so we'll be at WDW for the land portion of our land & sea then, but DCL still said they were going to do something for her. :hyper:
Cindy: NO PROBLEM! .. I always "Go Green" when I think of MSU :crazy2:
It seems you all know each other. I've been posting on other Disney forums for awhile but have only been here for a month or so (as you can see from my post count). We should plan to meet somewhere/someplace on the Wonder or during boarding, or something just to associate faces with names. DW and I plan to arrive @ the port around 10am on the Sunday. What about everyone else?

Did you all know you are on the DCL pin trading cruise? Did any of you pay the extra 35$ for the pin trading package? If so what is included in it?
ivanova
05-13-2004, 09:29 AM
Yup, that's actually why we're doing that particular cruise - hubby is a villains collector. :) We paid the $35 per person for each person in our group - right now we don't know what we're getting yet for the $35. They'll probably start announcing info over the next 3-4 months.
Melynny
05-13-2004, 12:53 PM
We are planning on getting to the port around 9:30 or 10:00.
I am still trying to decide about the pin trading add on. I am not a big pin trader.. but I would hate to miss out on limited editions to just stash away.
ivanova
05-13-2004, 01:20 PM
For $35 you can't go wrong.
Last year, for $35, we got the following FREE items:
* small pin bag with Ariel on one side, Ursula on the other
* two pins that came with the bag
* a pin that was given out at a pin seminar (but if you didn't attend the seminar, you still could get the pin)
* RSP (random selection process) opportunities to buy Limited Edition pins
Also, they've noted that for this year ANY limited edition pins being released on the cruise that week (i.e. Artist Choice or Captain's Choice pins) will be awarded through the RSP and NOT for sale at the pin cart.

05-21-2004, 04:23 PM
We're cruising on DVC points, any idea how I would register and pay the additional $$ for the pin cruise events?
ivanova
05-21-2004, 09:05 PM
Contact your travel agent (DVC) and tell them you want to sign up for the pin event on the cruise ... they'll need to call DCL (because they'll probably think your whacked :hyper: ) confirming the event & price, then they'll want to know what credit card you want to charge it too. :teeth:
Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention another freebie we got: T-shirt. :)

Stuart -- what do you mean by shore ressies this week? We are newbies to Disney cruising. I better find out what I'm supposed to have done this week!! We did make our final payment this week -- is that what you are talking about?
StuartMI
09-14-2004, 09:27 PM
You can make shore excursion reservations with DCL 60 days out. 60 days from Nassau is Thursday, 60 days from Castaway Key is Friday.
If you want to do things like Dolphin Encounter, etc, that fill up quick, you should reserve them ahead of time with DCL.
StuartMI

So what are everyone's shore excursions? Have you booked them yet?
Here's our schedule:
NASSAU
915am - Dolphin enounter for DW followed by Blue Lagoon Beach for both of us.
CASTAWAY KEY
1000am - Parasailing for DW
1150am - Banana Boats for both of us
245pm - Jetski Tour for both of us

Hmmm, lemme think (ouch, that hurts). We could do something basic, like meeting up on deck 9 or 10 for the sailaway party. Wear lime green. :teeth: But then we could miss each other huh??
I dunno. We could set a day/time to meet in one of the lounges, or we could meet in Parrot Cay for lunch after we board (and after everyone finishes their ressie rush), like around 1:30pm or so.
BTW, we have our excursions booked:
Nassau - me & DD doing the historic city tour, plus she'll do the Teen Junkanoo Jam.
CC - all three of us are doing the 9:45am jetski tour (figure 1st thing in the morning I might not get sunburned (do we have a finger crossing emoticon???)

Hey....StuartMI thanks sooo much for leading me to this thread!
Count us in for 11/14. Me, (Theresa 38 for a short time longer...), DH (37...who likes to remind me of his age), DD (12) and DS (8).
We were SUPPOSE to be sailing YESTERDAY! boo hoo. But Hurrican Jeanne had other plans for us. DCL had to cut the cruise short, move the port, change the times...so it ended up being a 2 day cruise. We just couldn't imagine giving up those days so we opted to reschedule. So we are happily sailing with you guys now.
We are from KY. First time Disney cruisers but big Disney fans.
I was on a thread with the 9/26 cruisers and they went to Home Depot and got green, Mickey heads that are used as paint chips and were going to wear them boarding day to recognize each other. They were also planning to meet on the Promanade level after the lifeboat drills. Have you all decided on a place to meet up? We'd love to join you.
I've been really sad until today but now....for the first time since last week....I actually think I can put my bouncy guy back in action.:Pinkbounc
CindyBeth...you have a DD 12? My DD would LOVE to communiate with her! She is very excited about the cruise but would be thrilled to know someone before entering the kids club alone. Of course my DS8 would like a contact too.

Well....what time is best to arrive at the port? I've heard about people making signs for their doors, do you do that? Do you do shore excursions? I think we'd all like to meet each other, from your experience, what time and place do you think works best?
This is our first cruise so any info you have would be great.

Perdita&Pongo
09-29-2004, 10:43 AM
Okay - let's see if I can answer your first question:
We arrive at the port about 10:00am. Why? Several reasons:
1) you beat the DCL bus crowds (nuf said)
2) you get to be at the front of the line to board, i.e. first on the ship! Some/one of your group can wait in line and trade off with the other(s) looking around the terminal
3) there's lots to see in the terminal itself - it's part of the whole DCL cruise experience. Get checked in and start relaxing! Check out the beautiful floor and design of the terminal. Go to the snack bar and get a bite or a drink. Go outside on the balcony and see the ship up close front and center! Spend time examining the large cut away model of the ship in the middle of the terminal. See the characters when they come out for the meet and greet! Take pictures in front of the Mickey ears entrance to the gangway leading to the ship.
4) Time is money. You paid a lot for this cruise, so the more time you can spend experiencing it reduces the "per hour" cost (make sense?) Even though the ship doesn't sail until 5:00pm, the "experience" begins the moment you arrive at the terminal - and the earlier the better! (Too much before 10 and you'll just be waiting outside)

The door signs craze seems to have started since our last cruise 2 years ago, so no we've never made one. But I would like to for this cruise and definitely for the 2-weeker repo cruise next year.
We did the Discover Atlantis excursion on our 1st cruise. We were signed up for Blue Lagoon but it got cancelled because it was raining. So we switched over to Atlantis. We did the indoor stuff while it was raining and when the rain let up we went outside and explored the grounds (it's huge!). We plan to do Blue Lagoon this cruise. We didn't do any excursions on cruises 2 & 3. It's fun to just get off the ship and walk to the nearby shopping district and try to get all the free stuff they give out (for see the Nassau Shopping handout you get on the ship).
As far as meeting other DISers, the first day is so crazy with everyone going their own way and getting their bearings on the ship, so I don't recommend trying to meet the first day. I guess I really don't have any suggestions for this one. Sorry.

Theresa/cheercoach2 - You are welcome for the info; I am happy to share! The repo cruise happens twice next summer as the Magic travels on 14-night cruises through the Panama Canal in May and then returns in August. This is to REPOsition the ship to the west coast for the summer to do 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises in celebration of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary. We will be on the Eastbound return cruise (with about 400 or so other DISers, I might add!).
txaggie94gigem - Yup, those would be the ones: island Mickey from the Disney Store! Did you pay full price or get them when they were 25% off? 50% off? We got ours at 50% off!! Add to that the 10% DVC discount and it was quite a coup!
We also have the Reyn Spooner Mom/girls dresses from Disney Deals online. Those have Mickey & friends, a cruise ship, filmstrips - that's the pattern. A little more teal blue than the blue in the Disney Store set.

Hey all,
Just checked the Cruise meet board for the first time. I guess I spend too much time over on the other boards :( DBF and I will be in Cabin 6020.....at least that's where we're currently scheduled to be.
Ivanova, we'll see you in the pin trading lounge during registration.
Anybody on this trip up for a little game of DIS tag during the cruise? If so, I'll print up a lime green Mickeyhead magnet and get the ball rolling when we get onboard.

:thewave: I agree! The countdown is on! We can't wait!! I hope we can figure out a way to meet you all. Maybe the Tag Game will help.
Anyone up for getting the green Mickey head paint chips from Home Depot and writing our screen names on them? We can attach them to our beach bag, purse, whatever just to serve as identification when we get on the boat?
Other ideas?:scratchin
We did the green mickey heads on our last cruise and ran into quite a few people at the terminal while we were waiting to board. The funny thing is, we never met up with anyone once we set sail and that was on a seven night! It is really hard to fit a meet in on the day you sail, because of the ressie rush, the lifeboat drill, the sail away and then early dinner.
Is everyone planning to get to the terminal early? Maybe that would be the best place to either schedule something or just keep our eyes open for lime green!?!

BTW, I will be printing out a list of cruisers cabin #'s just before I leave home, so I can get the Tag game started as soon as we hit the Wonder. So everyone be on the look-out for a lime greem Mickey magnet when you go to your staterooms....you never know when you'll be Tagged........you're IT !!!!!

Take a look at my countdown timer........that's where you will find me from early evening on the 11th til they throw us out on the 13th. We planned these three days JUST to attend F&W. If we ever make it to a restaurant, it will be amazing.......actually it will be tragic because we are looking forward to eating our way around the world to the right, then the left, then the right again :)
If you happen to see a 6'4" guy with a black pin trading hat standing next to a 5'4" woman eating New Zealand lamb chops and drinking.....well just drinking  , that will be me and Stephen. This will be our 3rd F&W festival and we've always gone for the food. THIS year I'm going to enjoy the wine too !!

is anyone doing the document dance yet? i have a questions since i have never cruised before....my birth cert is obviously my maiden name ( i have benn happily married for almost 12 yrs) so do i need to bring my marriage license too? also my birth cert is the original one so it is very old and looks like a copy on white paper but it does have a raised seal from my home state of TEXAS on it? with all my photo ids, is this enough?
i am so ready to do the document dance!!!princess:
They always suggest that you bring your marriage license. They probably won't ask for it, but it's better to be safe then sorry! Also, a photocopy of your marriage license is fine. You don't need the original.

Hey Aggie...
After I graduated from college (years ago..) I was leadership consultant and visited A & M. I absolutely loved it. The tradition was incredible.
But, to answer your question, my TA told me to take my birth certificate and my marriage license but a friend of mine just returned from the Disney Cruise and they did not ask for her marriage license and it doesn't specify that in the travel documents either. However, she said she would still take it just in case or what she plans to do now is get a new driver's license made and put her maiden name on it too. I think I may do that just for simplicity purposes.
Our birthcertificates sound like yours. As long as it has the raised seal you should be covered.
See you soon,
Theresa
ivanova
10-14-2004, 03:15 PM
I don't think a different last name between birth certificate and driver's license would be an issue ... it's pretty customary for women (still) to change their last names with marriage ... as long as the date of birth on your driver's license matches that on your birth certificate, THAT would be more critical.

A travel agent that posts on these boards posted elsewhere that the 11/14 docs are being PRINTED today and will be mailed next week ... obviously not quite true if some of our fellow cruisers have already received their docs.
My guess is that if you booked directly with DCL those docs go out first, and the docs that have to go via your TA are printed and mailed to the TA offices next.

Start going over your check lists now..........All U.S.
citizens will need a original birth certificate & a picture
drivers license. Or a valid U.S. passport & a picture
drivers license. The above are need in addition to your
documents from the cruise line!
If you ARE NOT a U.S. citizen - PLEASE make sure to
contact your consulate and Disney Cruise Line 800-511-1333
to make sure you have ALL the correct documentation
to travel.
Also, reconfirm when you receive your documents that
your names are your official names and spelled correctly.
If you are booking your own air, try to arrive to the ship
approx. noon, but no later than 2PM if possible. Return
air should be made for after 1PM.
Are you ready to go yet!!!! I know we are

P.S.: We spoke to DCL and they said most of the documents

we were sent in an email from DCL.
P.S.S: *****IF you have ANY QUESTIONS as to exact

We just got our pin assignments!!! Yea!!! We got 3 of everything we wanted! This is our first one and my dd is the only one who is getting any pins. So to make sure she got the ones she wanted we filled out a RSP for each of us, but just did the first one. And I guess they have a lot of pins, cuz we got everything we asked for! Is this normal? I am going to let them know which ones we don't want so if anyone else wants them they could get them. I was also wondering if we should keep some to try to sell on ebay, is it even worth it? Like I said I don't know that much about these pins, my dd was just getting some that she liked. Did anyone else get theirs yet?

You might be able to sign her up at this late of date, just not be able to prepurchase any of the event only pins (the RSP process has already been run).
You can save the $35 event fee (which means not getting any of the gifts) and your daughter can still pin trade on the ship and participate in the final RSP (purchasing of leftover event exclusive pins, plus any pins being released that week on the ship).

Just got confirmation from Customs and WD Event Services.
Any RSP merchandise we get we have to declare to Customs when we disembark the ship on Nov 18.
The personal exemptions we can declare are $600 per person (or for my family of three, a total if $1,800).
Because my RSP totals exceed $2,600 I will need to pay duty on about $800 of the RSP merchandise, as well as on any of the stuff I buy on the ship or in the ports.
The good news (I think) is that it looks like the duty is 2% (which beats sales tax, which we will NOT be paying for the RSP merchandise).

All of the plastic in my wallet instantly melted when the RSP results showed up.

If you booked directly with DCL they should be on there way - you could call DCL to find out if they've been mailed yet.
If you booked through a travel agent then you need to call your TA to see if they've received the docs yet (and when they rattle on about the "2 weeks before your cruise" let 'em know fellow cruisers have already received their docs).
Now, if you booked air as part of your cruise package, you won't see the docs until you're about 2 weeks out (or so I've been told) regardless of if you booked through DCL or a TA.

No Bahamas immigration cards here either .. but also no note included that the cards were missing (if I weren't a return cruiser, I wouldn't know that they should've been there). Fortunately they don't take long to fill out, so filling those out at the port will be a snap. :)

Our documents came in the mail yesterday -- priority mail. We booked through All Seas Travel.
Wooooohooooooooooooooooo.
P.S. Thanks for the responses about the pin cruise. We won't be doing the extra pin stuff. Though I'm sure my daughters (ages 4 and 10) and my son (8) will get into collecting pins when we are at Disney and on the boat. Sounds like a lot of you are really serious about it. HAVE FUN!!!

You can save the $35 event fee (which means not getting any of the gifts) and your daughter can still pin trade on the ship and participate in the final RSP (purchasing of leftover event exclusive pins, plus any pins being released that week on the ship).
Thanks for the info. Can you tell me, what does RSP stand for?

Random Selection Process
In essence, if there are more people wanting an item (for example, limited edition 300 pin but 500 people want it) this is their process for randomly selecting who gets to buy the pin.
The final RSP on the ship will technically be open to all guests on the shp (just most of them won't know about it).

Uhm - this may be a silly question - but have we decided on a place to meet each other at all?
I've gone through the threads and aside from people saying I'll be wearing "xyz" in the terminal, there doesn't look to be any on-board meet planned. Could I suggest we all attempt to at least say hello to one another during the sail-away party? Anyone have any suggestions?
Our door sign is made, suitcases are getting filled, and we're set to leave Thursday morning early! Susan, please try not to rip our door sign off when you do your taz thing down the hallway ;)
PS: I have *no* idea what I'll be wearing in the terminal but I will attempt to wear my ball cap that says "SGI" on it.

11-10-2004, 08:49 PM
Hey Stuart,
Stephen (Corwin17) will be wearing his Chernabog's Choppers shirt at the terminal. Although he's not on the DIS boards very much, stop by to say HI. I should be somewhere nearby, wearing a villains t-shirt more than likely. It is a villains pin trading cruise afterall ;)
Susan,
See you on board.
To everyone else,
I've printed out a list of cabin numbers and will be hanging the Tag Mickey head on someone's door as soon as we're aboard. Keep a sharp eye out :hyper:
