View Full Version : Which timeshare resort (RCI member) is best for 4 adults and 3 small kids?

My parents are RCI members and we're planning a vacation with them and our 3 small kids (will be 3 - 7 when we travel) to Orlando/Disney. I wondered which of the RCI resorts would have the most room space and kids amenities. My parents will have plenty of points, so that isn't really an issue I don't think. And we will have rental cars - we would be happy up to 20 mins drive away from the Disney parks.

Any ideas? Any experiences to share about RCI properties you've stayed at/own?

Orange Lake Country Club! We stayed there last year and loved it. OLCC was actually our 2nd choice...we tried for Vistana Resorts, but couldn't exchange for the time that we wanted. We'll be staying at the Vistana this year, (mid-May), so don't know much about it. Hope this helps!

Is Vistana an RCI property too? Since I don't own the timeshare and I don't currently have the big RCI resort directory, I am not aware of all the choices in the Orlando area.

Some of Vistana is RCI. Vistana is a very nice resort with tons of things to do. We've been owners for a long time now and have always enjoyed it. We are also DVC memebers now so in April we are splitting our trip between Vistana, BWV and BCV. My dad was there last March with us and he loved it. MY older boys have always loved it there and so does my 13 yo son.

For a group of 7 including 4 adults, consider a 3BR or a 2BR lockoff that combines two 1BR units. The rooms are listed with max. occupancy and private occupancy. As long as the room lists 8 privacy, there would be at least 4 separate rooms with beds and/or sleeper sofas, incl the LR. So look for something with at least 8/8 (not 8/6) to give you the most comfort. This will be more important if you expect to spend a lot of time in the room (rainy days, off days, very young babies or elderly, or any sickness).

RCI examples may include HGVC (either one), Orange Lake CC, Cypress Pointe (either one), Sheraton Vistana Villages (2BR 8/8 only) and Fairfield Cypress Palms (2BR 8/8 only). Any of these could provide a nice place to stay with a family on an Orlando area vacation. HTH!

Orange lake has a really nice 3 bedroom set up. Has 3 baths also. The kids could have 1 bedroom, adults the other 2.

I too say Orange Lake :sunny:

We were just there in February and were very impressed. We had a two bedroom in the new East section and there was plenty of room. The North Village looked quite nice too. That is where the bigger pool complex is and would be great for kids. At the East Village there was a nice pool that had zero entry that was great for our almost 3 yr old. It was nice and quiet most of the time. This resort was beautiful!

give us you list of choices - there should be plenty - then it will be easier to pick -

you might not be able to get one listed.

I agree with OLCC! I am an owner there and my family and I love it. There's always so much to do. The resort is beautiful and the kids will love the pools and activities.
