How does this work? Is there enough time to visit an attraction? Is it just for Animal Kingdom?

I have never heard of this and have been to WDW MANY times, most recent this past 12/27- 1/02/04. What is this? You can shop at a gift shop outside AK without entering park, but you don't need a pass to do this. You have to enter parking area and pay parking fee(unless you are a resort guest). Where did you hear about this and what exactly is it?

I read about it on the DVC board (3-5 weeks ago). Supposedly, you buy your ticket, enter the park, shop for < 1 hour, then return to guest services for a refund. I have no idea if what I read is true, so I posted the question.

They have stopped this, from what I have read, because of abuse.

1) We did this at MK in late Feb-2004.
2) We had done this in previous years.
3) WDW was VERY specific about the 1-hr time limit!
4) We were in-and-out in about 45-min, and it worked fine.
NOTE: We did tell them what we needed to buy and where we thought we had seen the items. I don't think an open-ended "We want to shop." statement will work.

I have a freind who did this in Epcot about a year ago. SO they probably offer it in all parks- if it is still being offered that is.

I did this last year at AK. I had to buy a cd for a friend but wasn't about to buy a ticket just to do it. I'm not sure, but I think I gave the girl my driver's license to hold on to for the hour. It's nice to know that you can pick something you forgot up at a park without buying the ticket.
