Hi all, it's your friendly Mythos cook again. Summer has officially started for us, so that means I won't be on the computer as much. We're taking last reservations at 7:30 and closing at 8:30 right now. IT was very busy this weekend, and my joints are aching right now! It's a good pain, though.

June/July's menu was implemented on Friday.

Gone is the tuna and slamon carpaccio salad, mushroom meatloaf :(, seared pork and seared scallops. In their place we have:

1) sushi salad, with miniture tempura shrimp sushi roll, smoked salmon roll, tuna sashimi with an oriental salad.

2)braised shortribs w/ blanched vegies, hickory barley risotto and burgandy braising sauce.

3)coffee crusted pork w/ ripe plntain mash, asparagus, a java sauce and vanilla cream.

4)shrimp w/ a tasso cream sauce and stone groudn grits

5)chilli fried softshell crab. The plateup is the same as the scallops, but with the crab instead of the scallops. Note: due to seasonal nature of the softshell crabs, and their current availability, we might have to substitute the scallops on any particular day.

Well, that's it fo now. I'm sorry I wasn't there when some of you came in the past week. I hope you enjoyed your meal, though. Thanks for asking for me!

Peace.

This would be a good menu for Robin's romantic dinner with Spider-Man. :bounce:

Hi

Another August traveler, we will be staying at the HRH from 8-20 to 8-23...Do we need to make ressies for lunch and dinner, my DH hates when we have ressies, and have to be someplace at a certain time, he would much rather go with the flow...

thanks,

patty

Hi! I was there on Sunday around noon, and asked for you, but server said you weren't working. He told me that you were a really nice guy!! Sorry I missed you!

I had the chili fried soft shell crab which was wonderful!
We thoroughly enjoyed this place, even the kids!!

I only had one shot at the new menu and tried the Coffee Crusted Pork Tenderloin. I must say it sounded weird but it was absolutely delicious!

I occasionally worry that they're "dumbing down" the menu to satisfy the least common denominator of tourist taste, but dishes like this reassure me that Mythos can still deliver a first rate dining experience at a cost about half what I would expect to pay for a similar meal in New York City.

Can't wait to get back there!

Speaking of "dumbing down" the menu, are there any changes to the kids menu, which is where I order from when I'm there on my "romantic" rendezvous with Spidey...

Hey, second cook your inital message says that the last reservation taken is for 7:30. I have reservations for 8:00PM on Friday July 6. Will you be staying open later in July? Oh am I going to find out I don't really have a reservation?! I got this through the universal line, tried calling you directly at Mythos (used the number you listed in the last posting) but could never get an answer. By the way will you be there on July 6th?

I know this a few months away, but the menu sounds so yummy. Do you do a Thanksgiving Day Menu when the time comes? We're still looking for a nice (resort dress) place to feast on Turkey Day.:D

heidimn-actually, we close at 10, but take the last resie around 9 starting this week. The BOH (cooks) are usually the last ones to find out the closing times. Sorry for the confusion. Yes, I will be there the 6th, all day. Hoep to see you!

belle-No, I'm sorry. We won't have the thanksgiving menu till October, probably. I do remember this pas thanksgiving, we had a special similar to the Feasting of the gods, in that it came with salad or soup, desert, and a thanksgiving plate (turkey, dressing, mash and fresh yams). I expect it will be similar.
