Need advice on changing my PayPal account type

I currently have a premier PayPal account for my eBay auctions, and I'm considering downgrading to a basic account to save myself some fees. Only problem is that I've got auctions up, stating I accept PayPal with no stipulations as to what forms of payment I can receive with PayPal. Can I just change my account midstream even though I may have bidders intending to pay by credit card? What is the best way of going about this?

Paypal allows you to downgrade once. So yes, you can do it. Will you have people irate if they pay you via credit card and you refuse payment, and they get the note from Paypal, and now have to send a check or money order, or make sure they have money in their PP account? Probably. I would not be a happy camper. Why not wait until these auctions end? You'll have a tough enough time once you tell people you don't accept cc, never mind how upset they will be for these auctions. I personally won't bid if an auction doesn't take PayPal with credit card. I like to think I have a recourse if the sold item isn't as stated..and my cc gives me that recourse.
