Just back from Sea World

We just got back on Friday from our Florida Trip 3/12 - 3/19. We went to Sea World on Saturday, March 13th. It always amazes me how great this park really is. We had free tickets due to a timeshare presentation we were visiting, and bought a ticket for our 3 yo. This park is clean, the staff is always really friendly, and there are many new rides and places to eat. We loved the new Waterfront, and found the food choices and shops to be very exciting. My son absolutely loved the new baby Clydesdale, and the baby whale (who performs next to mom in the Shamu show).

Happy Harbor is a great escape for the little ones, and gives the parents a shady spot to relax for a few moments.

We also used the 2nd day free on Friday, the day we were returning home. Sea world is so smart for offering this feature, and you really feel as if you're getting your money's worth going there since you can go twice for the cost of one day.

I would highly recommend anyone visiting the Orlando area to take a day and go to Sea World. It's not the Magic Kingdom, but it's an educational day and fun for all ages. We also stayed at the Renaissance sea World which I have reviewed on the Orlando Hotels page.

Glad you had just a nice time, will be going in December. Just wondering what the waterfront is? Is it in Sea World? Is there admission? I went to Sea World back in 1990, so I'm sure there are so many new things. :)

The Waterfront is a brand new area, down by the Skytower. It's all shops and restaraunts, and it's included in the park admission. The restaraunts here are very good. We highly recommend Voyagers. The stores are really nice too, and most sell stuff that is totally different from what is sold in stores in the rest of the park.

Thanks for the report. We will be there in two weeks!! What did your 3 yo like? I have a 4 year old DD. Any other advice?

Does SW have any kind of child-swapping system for the roller coasters?

We ate at a really cute counter service restaurant which had dueling piano's at lunchtime. They've really put a lot of money into Sea World over the last few years and it shows because the park is really our favorite one.

My DS 3 loved the Clydesdale horse barn, the Underwater viewing area for Shamu, and probably most of all, he loved "Shamu Happy Harbor". It's a playground area for kids which has all sorts of rides, slides, games and toys. Bring a change of chothes as a few of the things you climb through can get your kids soaking wet.

They didn't have the babyswap for the rides, however I went on Kraken with a less-than-5 minute wait on Saturday March 13th. We used our "2nd day free" on Friday the 19th and there was a pretty long wait for that and "Atlantis". Atlantis is my favorite ride, but I timed it wrong and tried to go on at the busiest time of the day. If you want to do the rides, do them first thing in the morning, and do the tours later in the day. See "Pets Ahoy" and the Wild Arctic, minus the simulator portion. Bring a stroller because Sea World is very spread out, we probably walked 5 miles the day we were there. If your DD has a cup with a built in straw or sippy cup, bring it b/c the park doesn't offer straws. I brought 1 bottle of water and one bottle of juice with a plastic cup/straw and we diluted juice.

Voyagers seemed to have a little of everything. They had excellent pizza, different pasta dishes, sandwiches, and I think they had stir fry also. I'm pretty sure I also saw salads, but I might be wrong. It's a buffet-type place.

They do you wait in line while outher person with child waits outside and just before you get on a ride tell them you want to baby swap and they give you a voucher
