View Full Version : Does Disney send out information before your cruise?

We will be first time cruisers (4 nights on the Wonder in April 2005 and 4 nights on land) and I'm not sure what to expect. I have just started reading these boards and I've been reading about different excursions and events. Do we book these BEFORE we leave, or is everything done on ship? (see, I've already learned not to call it a boat! :) ) Is there a list that tells us what is offered?? We will also be staying with concierge so will they contact us??

Thanks for all the help!

You will receive some information before you leave.

About 60 days out you will be able to book excursions in advance. You'll have received a brochure and a link to the excursion information on the website.

Sometime between two and six weeks before your cruise, you will receive "documents." This package will contain a brochure giving you some information about how your package will work. What to pack, what food options are available. It will also contain your tickets and some forms to fill out before you board.

However, I would recommend getting yourself a Passporter (www.passporter.com) specifically for the cruise (and one for the land portion of your trip as well if you have never been to Disney World). Also the Magical Disney Cruise guide located here: http://www.allearsnet.com./cruise/cruise.shtml

Also you may be interested in checking out recent Navigators (these are the day schedules that let you know what time they will teach you to draw Mickey or be having entertainment by the pool. www.dcltribute.com Keep in mind that Navigators will change, so don't plan your days to an old Navigator, but the type of events offered are pretty good (and some things don't change).

Congratulations on booking your first cruise....

I agree with getting a Passporter - the 2004 edition will be released in mid-April.

The concierge team will not call you - at least in my experience - but - you can and should call them to schedule both Palo and any excursions. You cannot make advance reservations for the Spa.

Congrats on booking your cruise! You will have lots of time to research and plan ahead. I am of the spur of the moment variety, however, lol. I sometimes just need decide at the last minute what to do! :)

I found my passporter in stock at the local Barnes and Noble bookstore. It is not the 2004 edition, but it has GREAT information. I shared it with my parents who are going too and they wouldn't give it back! LOL

Jill - We just booked our first trip for next year also and all I can say is keep reading these discussions or post your own questions. I have found out more information in the past couple of weeks that I could get from any book (but I will be purchasing the new Passporter in April :D)

Good Luck and Have Fun!!!!
