Does anyone know a way to become a member of the Emerald Club and have the fee waived? I am not part of a corporation or club.
There are "hints" on Mary's site, but those do not work and I was told that the information is incorrect.
Help?

I know this link works, I just tried it again and I have used Turner travel for a year with no problem. When you do go to make a reservation you can put any code you want in at the time,it's not limited to Turner's number. Play around with the numbers and get the best deal.

I just did this the other day-received my EC card via the internet and have booked my rental for our Easter trip. Very smooth.

the information for Turner Travel is not incorrect. It is very correct. It will state that they are charging you 50.00, but, that is a default screen and it does not charge you because the Turner code is already in there.
Not sure who told you that it did not work, but, they were incorrect.

I went through the Turner link on Mary's Mousesaver site and got my membership for free. No charge (not even the default screen). Just had to enter in all my driver's license information. Got my card about 4 weeks later in the mail.
Nice and smooth. Don't worry. I was a little scared too at first to do it, but no problems at all!

You did get a number right away, right? I know my daughter did last summer.

I also received my number right away-it came up as a little card on my screen that I printed-no probs! I also did not get a default screen. I then called National and they applied my EC to my reservation (they cancelled the old and put in a new one-same rate except for a surcharge for Frequent Flyer Miles).
