I currently have a PS for the Garden Grill character lunch. However, I am considering changing it to the ice cream social in order to save a little money. I have never eaten here, but thought the catfish sounded good. Of course, the ice cream served at the social looked yummy too!
Any thoughts or preferences?
Thanks!!!

Hi,
I've never eaten lunch there, so I can't compare the two, but we really enjoyed the Ice Cream Social.
The ice cream sundaes were huge (none of us finished them), and my DS got a kick out of the rotation of the restaurant.
The character interaction was great, we saw Pluto, Mickey, Chip, and Dale several times each. All the benefits of a character meal, without the big price!
If you decide to do the Social, I'd suggest eating a VERY light lunch around 12, then you'll be ready for the ice cream at 3.

The lunch was excellent. The catfish was very tender and melted in your mouth. It was all you cared to eat and served family style. Interaction with Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale was great.

I'd love to hear some opinions on this, too! We tried the lunch here 2 years ago, but I wasn't crazy about it. I loved the characters - we got a lot of interaction, but I was just so-so on the food. Can't remember exactly what we had, but I know I don't eat the fish, one of the side dishes or the dessert that was offered at the time. I believe the dessert changes throughout the year, though. We also had poor service, so I think this may have dampened my experience here. We are considering trying the lunch here again in Sept, but may look into the Ice Cream Social. Just not sure yet. :)
