I am so excited to finally be on track with that. They had a promo this week if you brought in a bag of groceries for charity, the sign up fee was waived so I have to admit in my WDW saving ways, that was a big incentive to finally take the plunge.

My first work out is Friday. Wish me luck!

Good for you. I've been going to Curves for four months now 3x a week religiously. I love it. It's a very comfortable environment and I feel good about myself when I'm done. It's quick and not boring (at least I don't think so).

I've lost inches and feel much better.

Good luck!

I've been going to Curves for 7 months now. I usually go 2-3 times per week. I'm on the South Beach diet and was getting discouraged about not losing weight as fast as I would like. (I'm 38 and trying to lose 5-10 pounds, but MAN IS IT HARD!!) My motabolism has really slowed in the last few years. The person working at Curves suggested I start going around the equipment 3 times instead of 2. I've started that last week. I definitely feel more tired after my workouts. I also do sit-ups after the machines in the "stretching area". I think it just takes a long time for my body to kick in. So don't be discouraged if there's anyone else like me out there!

I just joined this week also with the bag of food plan. It was a great deal. I went 3 days and plan on going tomorrow. I love it! I have some muscles that are crying out in agony though.:)

Hope you like it!! :) I just went back this week (today and wednesday) after being out for a couple of months due to being sick (it was an awful winter!). I hope to get back to 3x a week next week. Our Curves has 10 machines and I go around 3x. Today I am a bit sore - but a good sore! :)

Ok, I promised I'd post about my first session at Curves this morning.

I got up bright and early at 6:00 a.m. Did the morning grooming ritual and put on some workout clothes and was at Curves by 6:30. Did my 30 minute workout, actually it ended up being a little longer.

I like that you get personal attention when you need it and they make sure you're using proper technique. I think this is a good starting point for me since I haven't exercised on a regular basis in years. I realized this morning that I'm way, way out of shape.

I do, however, feel that after a few months, the workout may not be enough of a challenge for me. I used to lift weights way back when and I got quick results. In all fairness, I don't actually know whether the resistance method would take any longer to get those results as opposed to weights. If any of you out there can give me more info, that would be great. I felt good this morning though, and I'm anxious to go back tomorrow.:D

I feel the same way. Don't get me wrong - I love Curves. I like the convenience of 1/2 hour workout, but in all honesty, I really don't feel I'm getting a serious workout. I'm also not seeing results very quickly. This is why I started going 3x around the machines instead of 2. I'll stick out my yearlong membership with Curves, but then I'm joining a real gym where I can lift as much weight as I want and also go on the cardio machines.

I had my first work out and I really enjoyed it. The time went quickly and I really liked that.

For now, I am sure it will help me becuase going from doing pretty much nothing to doing something has got to help.

I may have to reassess in the long run as well but for now, I think its great.

I have been going to curves for almost a month. On Wednesday I will be weighed and measured to see if I've lost anything. I don't feel any smaller yet, but my legs do feel stronger.
I'm glad that you got to join under the "bring in a bag of food" campaign. That was a great deal!

WTG, Kat! I love curves. I've been going religiously for months, but I didn't go last week due to bronchitis and a possible hernia. UGH!!!! I'm gonna buy a girdle-belt thing and just keep going.

I joined in January and really loved going but I had to quit a couple of weeks ago. I did not want to quit but it was taking so much gas for me to go I just could not do it anymore. I only get paid once a month and I put all my gas money on a Walmart shopping card. I was using my month allotment in less than two weeks and I just cant keep doing that. They have alked about getting another location in my county so if it is really alot closer then I might re-join.I really miss it because I was losing inches.
