OKW Availability in May

I'm going to be switching my May 2002 vacation already booked at my home resort (VWL) to OKW at the 7 month mark. Has anyone had difficulty doing something like this at OKW? We're currently booked for 7 nights.

We have gone to OKW twice in May (non-memorial day) and had absolutely no problem getting reservationd. We even added a studio to our reservation last year at the three month mark.

Depending on the season, of course, OKW is generally pretty easy to book. I added a day to our studio (May 30) this year at two weeks out from our arrival. I saved $80 on airfare flying Wednesday instead of Thursday because of a fare sale.

I've booked 6 nights starting Saturday of Mother's Day weekend the past 2 years and had no problem (1 bedroom). Last October, I called on the first day to check availability to see if I should do day by day, they said it was wide open.

We had cash ressies at the Polynesian for May 11-20 of this year, and then bought into DVC in April. With only two weeks until our vacation we decided to switch from cash at the Polynesian to points at OKW. Had NO problem two weeks out getting a 2-BR.

And, Oh, what a LOVELY place OKW is!!!

We were able to book 2 months out (Aug. 13 - 18) at OKW.

I was able to book OKW just about 5 days prior to going this past May into June. We were pleasantly surprised that there were availablity and there are many families that always go that week and were very pleasant and sociable!!!

We had a great time!!!
