I was just on the CB board and was inspired by the "You know you are a cat lover when...."
What about
You know you are a pin trader/collector when.....
1. The first thing that goes into the suitcase is my lanyard.
2. Instead of saying "Hi , I am Betty Lou..." you say " May I see your pin book?"
3. You chase and tackle ANYONE that has a lime green ribbon or a Parkhopper DIS pin on.
4. Any notebook you see in a store you say to yourself "Can this hold my pins?"
5. You dream of finding your Holy Grail on a CM lanyard.
Here are just a few. Do you know of any more?????

... you check out ANY lanyard (or anything that looks like a lanyard) even when you're 800 miles from WDW.
... a special filmed at WDW comes on TV and you're looking for lanyards.

Shirley, how did you know our dogs get their cookies via FedEx from Three Dog Bakery?? :p

You are a pin addict when:
YOU take an 8 month 'sabbatical' and can still name most of the pin sets/series from 2000!
You have a multitude of pin pricks in your fingertips and not from checking your blood sugar!
You spend an hour in the office of your therapist talking about Disney pins because he is a Disney Fanatic also!

You know you're a pin addict when the man at the airport metal detector says...Do you mind if we open your bag???
You know you're a pin addict when you have calls on your answering machine from Gallery stores across the US and they all know you by your first name...

When you are on Ebay/Yahoo more than the Dis.
When you tell yourself you need to stop -- but don't.
My vanity plate is going to read read PINTRDR:bounce:
I am LOOKING for a fellow pin hook in my area.
When you look at the CM's with such hopeful, pleading eyes on the off chance they may have any pins for sale. (Not here :( )

Pre-pin days:
I had two credit cards with usually zero balances. (Emergency use)
Now:
I don't want to discuss it...

How about
1... You see a great picture or piece of artwork and all you say is nice fame or I could use that mat...
2... You running through the airport (in MD) and stop everything when you see a Lanyard... Hey ya never know what pins are what... Right Suzi....
3... You consider MD a part of NE...
4... You have 1500 pins and while trading 1500 miles away you know everyone of them that you have... But you can't remeber the names of the people you just traded with...
5... You think flying 3000 miles round trip in 2 days to get a pin seems normal....
I remeber that someone here once posted on a question I asked... We are all part of the happiest cult in the world:bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

How about...
When you clean out all of the pins and pin sets that you have in closets, drawers and the garage and find that you can quite easily fill a two room anex with what you find!!
or...
When you go to a pin meet in Connecticut (from Maryland) by way of New Hampshire (it IS right on the way, isn't it?)

when you fly to MD for a meet and don't tell your parents because they will put you in rehab( and your are a little over 30)
you start planning what to put on your lanyards in May for the August event.
you buy a second computer because "Honey are you on that trade thing - again!?!?!?"
ebay sellers now email you before they put things up for auction
You can name the edition size of about 1000 different pins
your first 10 bookmarks are either trade sites - pinsites - or auction sites.

You know you are an addict when the first thing you do when you wake up is check to see if any new pins were added to PinPics so you can update your trader list...
Or
You badger your hubby until he lets you go to WDW for the Aug. pin event just to get you to leave him alone and then complains because he can't go with you...HEHE
(Britt is soooooooo sad)

You know you are married to a pin collecting addict when:
1. Between the computer, the printer and the pin binders in the living room, there is no more room for people.
2. You go to WDW for 4 nights and 5 days and go on zero rides
3. The mailman also knows him by his first name, and comes to our house first with his car so he can unload all the little yellow pin envelopes before he starts his walking route.
4. You get to go to WDW and DL every four months to look at what they have?
5. You have enough frequent flyer points from your credit card to transfer to Delta for more frequent flyer milage
6. People from Florida call DH to ask what is coming out next.
7. you know you are married to a pin collecting addict when you just smile at him and say OK, as long as you pay for it next!!!!!!!!

Your husband is in the hospital, you're worried sick - your mother-in-law is here to "help" (she really is a great person - but you know), you're not eating and all your friends are worried about YOU - THEN you see a pin on a volenteers jacket and you just have to talk to her about it - and it turns out that her husband collects pins, and she gives you the pin. A bit of normalicy.

YOU BUY A NEW P.T. CRUISER AND THINK THE P.T. STANDS FOR PIN TRADING.
AND THEN YOU TRY AND FIGURE OUR HOW TO GET A LANYARD AROUND THE CRUISER.
AND YOU WONDER HOW MUCH TROUBLE YOU WOULD GET INTO IF YOU TRIED TO PAINT THE WDW PIN TRADER LOGO ON THE SIDE OF THE DOORS.
THE CRUISER IS BLACK - THE WDW PIN TRADER LOGO WOULD LOOK GREAT.

Your 6yr-old DD gets a birthday gift but you can't pay attention to her because the sender used a whole roll of bubble wrap in the package and now you won't have to go buy some in order to get this week's trades in the mail.
You have a dream about some new pins coming out and you wake up at 3 AM with an anxiety attack because your pin bag is downstairs and you can't remember where you have to go to get those "dream" pins.
You can quote USPS domestic and international "small packet" rates for first class, airmail, priority mail, express mail, with/without insurance . . .

You know you are a serious pin addict when you think of everything that you buy in terms of how many pins the money you spent on it would have bought and do you really need that item?? HEHE

You know you are a pin addict when you think nothing of flying down to WDW for just a couple of days because something called a Pin Event will be taking place.
You know you are a pin addict couple when you think nothing of splitting up with your spouse and each attending a separate Pin Event during the year because you can afford to attend more Pin Events that way.
You know you are an addict when you decide that going down for several pin events isn't enough so you decide to hold your own pin events complete with vouchers and logo pin.
You know you are a pin addict when you tell stories of the pre-voucher day runs at the rope drop.
You know you are a pin addict when your WDW planning consists heavily of pin purchasing strategies.
You know you are a pin addict when you read every single one of the comments listed in this thread and in your head you agree with every single one of them.
You know you are a pin addict if you read this thread just to feel a little better because there are others who share this obsession....er...disease.....um....I mean interest.
You know you are a pin addict when you purchase LBE by the 25 count box and you can make a wall out of the empty boxes.
You know you are a major pin addict when you have a pin manufacturer who knows you very well.
You know you are a pin addict when every time you plan something you also consider having a pin made.
My name is Vince, I am a pin addict.....I enjoy it....a LOT!

I have just a little twist on the topic...
Mine is you know you are glad you are a pin addict when you realize that without this hobby, you would have never had the chance to meet so many wonderful people and develop friendships that you hope will last a long long time. It makes it worth every dime spent, every hour of sleep lost, and every shoe worn out chasing this obsession. I wouldn't trade this addiction for anything :)

with all said...
You also know your an addict when you load up the kids to go to a pin event the morning in happens cause you just don't want to miss it...DTD
Then you talk your DH into going to the next one and getting up early so you can get your pins...heheh
(I think the bug bit him at the MK event!) yeah!!!
before you go to bed you have to check pin survivor to see what's happening! (I'm having a hard time posting this as I am still stiff from being tied to Dumbo to dry out!) lol
You pout cause you didn't get your breakfast tickets to the Epcot event...:(
You almost run down the Sams Club guy trying to get a look at all of the pins on his lanyard!
Wow, what a great hobby! and yes, all of the wonderful people I've met who've been so nice! Can't wait to meet you all in August! Yippeeee!!!!!!!!!!!
