Weigh-in Day, or, My Best Friend the Scale

The background: I have been doing Atkins for 6 weeks now, and after losing about 12 pounds, things slowed down for a week or so. Last week's weighing only showed a loss of one pound, which, while truly not bad news, was a bit disappointing after such dramatic results at first. I resolved to keeping plugging away and see how things progressed. So, today is my weekly weigh-in day, and I stepped hopefully onto the scale to find that I had lost

FOUR POUNDS

which, really, is pretty encouraging.

Woo-hoo!! 17 pounds in 6 weeks! Yay me!!

Time for the Happy Dance!!

Isn't that a great feeling? Hope you're taking those measurements for the weeks when the scale doesn't move - it's a fact of life on Atkins. You'll have a few weeks of slow or no loss and then a whoosh - just like you've experienced. Don't let it disappoint you, OK?

I would say me and my scale have a love/hate relationship going on. I love it when the scale reports a big loss and hate it when the loss is small!

Thanks, everyone!! I have had a grin on my face all day long, and treated myself to two different products from my favorite line of moisturizers. Soon, I will be known not just for my increasingly baggy pants but for my radiant and glowing skin!

Yippee!! Great loss! I only saw a DISMemberWISH clippie on that post of yours, you need to get to go get yourself a BIG old clippie that you can flaunt around with your big loss number on it!!! CONGRATS!!!!::yes::

Thanks, summersfam4 ! I'll tell you, I was sorely tempted to get the clippie that reflected my true weight loss so far, but I didn't take the WISH challenge until I was 13 pounds along, and it just wouldn't be fair to all the others who are playing by the rules if I were grabby. So, I'll look forward to getting my first loss clippie soon, and add 13 to it. It's something of a pity, actually, because math is not my friend.
