Wondering how the experience was. Any input is appreciated. Thinking about booking it for my 3 1/2 yr. old son.
Thanks!

I'll answer your question, although my child didn't experience it. I was at the Grand Floridian with my wife walking around (our 3 kids were doing the Pirate Cruise at the GF), and we watched the Tea Party for a little bit.
From what I saw there were mostly all little girls there (many dressed in princess outfits, etc), with mom and dad or just mom. The stories were read by Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter, and other characters. The only young boys I saw there were with a sister, I didn't see any alone as the only child. That's by no means to say that it isn't for boys, but again it is a "tea party" and most of the decorations seemed to be geared for girls (you just wouldn't want him to feel funny if all the other kids are girls).
The "guests" ages are 3-10 and the price is around ($28.00/child), for about 1 hour. The section fits about 25 kids.
Hope this helps.

I don't see how you watched it since the doors are closed and the curtains drawn.

Parents are not allowed so I kind of doubt it was the Wonderland Tea Party you saw.
DD did it at 4 1/2 and loved it. 10 DNi also attended. Both girls loved it. My mom and I took the time to have Tea at the Garden View lounge while they were at the Tea Party.

Hmm....we saw something. We saw Alice in Wonderland and the other characters telling stories to a group of kids in the corner of the GF lobby in an enclosed area (raised floor w/railings) with tables. I thought when I asked someone they told me it was the "tea party"...hmmmm

I don't remember the name of the event, but it sounds like you saw the parent/ child event in the Garden View Lounge. The lounge is straight across the lobby form the main doors It cost over $100 per pair. The girls get a special addition dall along with some other items to take home. I believe it is a part of the new magical gatherings promotion. Not long ago I read all about it, but now I can't find the info.
The Wonderland Tea Party is held in 1900 PF which is off to the left as you enter the building. The dining area would not be visible from the lobby. You would have to enter the lobby area of the restaurant and look through the french doors that are past the hostess area.

I thought I had a pic of everyone in the room before the adults were ran out, but I can not find it. I seem to remember a few boys there. They play games and eat sandwiches and decorate cupcakes. I think a younger boy like yours would enjoy it.

thanks for the info. I went ahead and booked it. I think it's something he'll really enjoy and I don't want to wait to book later to find that it's full since they only take 25 kids (i think) and only do it twice a week!

If you want to book it, do it now when he is still young.
I now wish I would have booked this last summer when my son was 3.5 yrs old. He wanted to do it but we just ran out of time!
Now we are going back this summer & now my 4.5 yrs old told me the "Tea Party" is for GIRLS!!!!! He really doesn't want nothing to do with it unless there are other boys there. Since I can't promise him there will be, he won't be going :(
BUT this is the same child who loves to have breakfast with the Princesses!princess: I think he enjoys the kisses :lovestruc
He will be going on the Pirate Cruise this summer though pirate:
Let your boy go when he is still young! ENJOY!

My son and daughter did the tea party last year when they were 3.5 and 5.5, respectively. They had a great time and really enjoyed themselves.
For our upcoming trip, I had booked CRT and the Pirate Cruise. When I asked them what else they would like to do, they both said the tea party!!! It was past the 90 day point, but well before the 60 day and was able to get them booked. Whew!!!!
If your 3.5 year old enjoys Alice in Wonderland, he'll have a blast.

It was a trial run program, held for a limited time only, not part of Magical Gatherings. It's run is over, hence not being able to find any info on it. I believe I'd heard they were all booked full, though, so maybe they'll add them to the permanent rotation! I know my DD would love it!! Although not sure about a little boy since it comes with a doll (hence the price tag!)

My DD's did this and my youngest was 3 at the time. They had a ball. There were a couple boys there, and they didn't only do "girly things". They really enjoyed it. Wish I could have stayed and watched, but they booted all the grown-ups out.
