Hi,

Found this on another disney boards site. Thought I'd share it!!!

In the Orlando Sentinel there is an article about
Comcast Corp's. brazen bid to take control of the
WDCo. is part of a much larger scramble by the
corporations that develop and deliver news and
entertainment to gain the upper hand in the unfolding
digital revolution.

Comcast and others have decided the best way to
run with the pack or better yet pull ahead is to both
produce the movies, tv shows, photos, music and online
services that people desire, and control the systems
that can deliver them to the buying public.

Comcast is facing increasing doubt among investors
that its bid for Walt Disney Co. can succeed, as their
stock languishes and the value of its unsolicited offer remains
well below Disney's market price.

Though it is early in the game we will see.

To read more on the article you can go to OrlandoSentinel.com

Good luck trying to say anything about the Comcast take-over on the DVC board. You have to speak about missing spoons and forks in the rooms or you'll be swept out with a quick broom.

In any event, thanks for the update.

...that the proposed merger by Comcast might affect what cable stations we would receive during DVC (and WDW) stays. They might be able to add HBO, Showtime, or FOX News! Maybe even PPV/By Request movies.

(How's that..think it will work?) :p

Thanks for the information. When I told my wife about the Comcast bid, she said, "We'll have to sell DVC because I'm not having a timeshare at Comcast World!"

Here's an idea. If you have Comcast at home you can save Disney by switching to direct tv. :hyper:

First of all WELCOME to the Rumors and News Board!! You really didn't think you'd stay at DVC, did you? And speaking of moving DVC...

"We'll have to sell DVC because I'm not having a timeshare at Comcast World!"

It may become "Comcast World", but our DVC will be Marriott! It's only a matter of time, even if Ei$ner somehow survives!!

How sad :(

Marriott buying DVC is definitely better than some other companies buying it though. Even though the way things are nowadays, it seems like ANYTHING is possible!

And yes, WELCOME to the Rumors Board tinkgrl.
