Anyone stayed at Ramada Plaza, Gatwick?

We stayed at the Ramada in April 2003 before out flight to Orlando and we found it a lovely hotel. We had a fantastic quality bar meal before an early night!

We're going to Spain in August this year and are booked in their again.

Yes, we stayed there in Jan 2003 before flying to Orlando. We had a family room , and it was plenty big enough for me, DH, and two small DS. We had breakfast in the morning, and that was ok too.
It's similar to a Novotel, if you've ever stayed in one of those.

The only things were; the driver took us to the wrong terminal in the morning, which would have been very annoying if we hadn't checked in the night before and had our cases.

Also because we checked in the night before, driving to the car park, leaving the car then getting the shuttle back to the hotel, the car was in the car park for a night too long, and we had to pay extra to get the car out :mad: Virgin promote the hotel as ideal to use in conjunction with their night-before check in but don't mention that the parking you've paid for doesn't cover it. we didn't realise but as you fly back on an overnight flight, thats another night in the car park.

We are not leaving cars at Gatwick (parents are giving us a lift and my auntie and her family are getting a taxi.
