gamom - Thanks for the info. I'll pack another nicer outfit just in case Triton comes up twice for me. I'm packing tropical for Parrot Cay. :D
I find myself more addicted to these boards as the time draws nearer.

Just checked and it looks like the movies we'll have are:
Brother Bear
Calendar Girls
Confessions of a teenage drama queen
Cold Mountain
Finding Nemo
Freaky Friday
Home on the Range
Lady Killers
Lord of the Rings
Master and Commander
Miricale
Pirates of the Carribean
Teacher's Pet
The CM said they was no indication of any new movies that would be added, but the movies are always subject to change.
I've only seen 3 of these movies (my DC have seen most of them) so I guess I need to decide how much of my "cruise time" I want to spend in the theater!:teeth:
It's getting closer! I bought the new Passporter Monday after school and can barely put it down. So much info!:wave2:

Hi gamom2three
Thanks for the list. Did you call the number the Passporter gave to call about a week ahead of time for the shows that would be showing?
I loved Pirates of the Carribean but Master & Commander was very boring to me. My husband said he didn't care for it either. I loved Lord of the Rings and heard that Lady Killers is very good.
Looks like we are staying at the same place as you, Ron Jon's, and also both on the 2nd floor on the Wonder but on opposite ends. We are in 2628
Has Anyone made a door sign? My grandson designed one on the computer. I need to go to Office Max and pick up some magnetic copy paper. I thought it was a cool idea...makes it easier to find your room, especially for little ones.
Deweysgirl I understand being a "tad bit depressed" cause I am too!
It will all be over with too soon! But I try to think on good things, like only 9 days until our vacation officially starts on May 21!

Thanks for checking on the movies for us gamom2three. I've been wanting to see "Lady Killers" but it is no longer in theaters around me. I'm hoping it will still be playing on ship. Also wanting to see "Home On the Range" with the kids. And to think I once wondered if there would be enough things to do.

I also love to plan our vacations and I know I will be sad when this cruise is over but I look forward to all the great memories!!

Gamom2three, Thank you for the movie list!! I was thinking that a movie would be a good place for some of the older kids, like mine, to go for a while so my DH and I could check out the night clubs.
Carol36, I can't say that I liked one restaurant better than another. I think the food was good in all three and I really enjoyed the change of scenery every night! It's also fun to dress a little differently, like Greytlady said, she's going tropical for Parrot Cay.

I can't believe that we will be in single digits tomorrow!!!:teeth: Did everyone see the new spa price list! Wow! The prices went up! We were planning on one treatment, but now we have changed our minds. Since we are only doing a 4-day, we figured we would put our time and $$$ into something else. Maybe when we take a 7-day;) , we could do one or two treatments.
Thanks for getting the list of movies! I haven't seen alot of those! We, at least, have a variety to choose from.
Everybody....have a great day!:sunny:

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the movie list, we've seen a few but plan on trying to catch a couple.
Where did you see the new "spa" prices? I was planning on a couple but I quess that may change. Did they also change the price of the "Rain Forest"?
Can you believe it 10 days to go, I went back yesterday to page one and re read the posts. It was so funny for the longest time it seemed like Carol's family and mine were going to have the whole boat, we were real newbies. Look at us now, 18 pages later WOW!
I need to run to visit a friend in the hospital be back tomorrow, looking for all the last minute inforormation that I can get.

The thread on the spa prices is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=566896 but the actual prices are at http://www.*******************/spa.htm. The Rain Forest looks to have stayed about the same $8 on day of treatment, $15 per day.

One week from today and I'll be on the road to Florida!
My DD11 had her chorus concert last night. They had a 60's theme for it - wore tie dye shirts and sang a medley of 60's songs. All the kids looked real cute and did a great job. It's hard to believe they'll be moving up another grade soon.

IT IS FINALLY SINGLE DIGITS!! I CANNOT WAIT TO MEET EVERYONE. THIS IS SUCH A GREAT GROUP! I WAS THINKING; HOW DOES EVERYONE FEEL ABOUT BRINGING A SIGNED POSTCARD BY YOUR FAMILY, TO EXCHANGE WITH EACH OTHER? MAYBE SOMETHING THAT WILL INDICATED WHERE WE LIVE? WE DON'T HAVE TO SPEND A LOT OF MONEY, AND IF IT CAN BE POSTED AS TO HOW MANY FOLKS ARE PLANNING TO MEET AT 3PM AT THE PROMENADE LOUNGE, WE WILL KNOW HOW MANY TO BRING. WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK? Hi everyone!
Just got home from my last day at work.. So now it's vacation for 2,5 week :D I'm planning on spending at least half a day this weekend on reading the boards, the other 1,5 day I'll probably be packing. Can't believe I'll be on my way to Florida in less than 3 days!
I got loads of tips and advices from my colleagues at the office, so it will be a well-prepared vacation. I just checked the weather forecasts thought, and every day next week has clouds listed... :( Hopefully it will be a little sunny as well.
I'll certainly go and see Home on the Range, as it won't be in theaters here till July. I'm still wondering whether I should reserve some extra $$$ for one of the spa treatments.. it's very tempting
:teeth:
See ya all real soon!

jeroenalex - It's good to hear from you. I know you must be looking forward to being off for 2.5 weeks.
A tip of mine for the weather - I usually pack disposable panchos for those rainy times and good for those wet rides too. You can throw them away before coming back home. They are usually in the camping section of Target or Walmart around here. (Less than $1 each).
DCLADDICT - A nice way to keep in touch afterwards too.
I'm slowly starting to get things ready to pack.

DCL Addict: The postcards sound like a good idea! According to greytlady's list on Page 14, we have 16 families so far.
Jeroenalex: I wish you safe travels! Have a great time at WDW. Do not worry about the weather. In Florida, it can be rainy one minute and sunny the next. I am sure you will get plenty of sun-probably too much!!

Hi All!
I am so glad that DH and I decided to book this trip. We have never been in such need of a vacation. So much going on in our lives right now and it seems that everything that can go wrong is going wrong! I am sooo tired but here I am on the Dis trying to unwind when I should be asleep. Glad that I have done these land/sea packages before because I've barely had time to even think about what to bring. I will be throwing things in a suitcase the night before. Will make due with what I have and be dressing very casual. I just need to relax on this trip.
Sorry for the vent. I really am looking forward to meeting all of you on board!
And by the way, it really is true...take out half of what you pack. You will be glad you did.
Only five more days until we are at WDW. Can't wait.!

Postcards are a nice idea, count me in too! We need a count and I think I would like to put my return address, that way we can keep in touch or at least our e-mail addresses.

Sorry to hear about your sleepless nights. I hope things get better and you can get some rest. Repeat after me - "Vacation = no worries mon!!!" Won't be long now.
I figure I'll be buying those souvenier t-shirts at WDW to help fill out any wardrobe need if I underpack. The kids outgrew those from the last trip a couple of years ago and need new ones anyway.
I had to get my webcam fix this morning - the Magic is in port at moment. You can see part of it anyway.

Greytlady, I am repeating "no worries mon" and starting to believe it. Was sleeping good again last night and was awakened to the cat gagging on my bed.lol. The last thing I needed was a comforter to wash. Grabbed her and tossed her in the bathroom on the ceramic floor just in time. Looking forward to some much need relaxation, but to tell you the truth I don't like to sleep too much on vacation. I want to enjoy every minute. Maybe I'll sleep in on our day at sea.
DD is very interested in adopting a Greyhound someday. I realize this is very last minute but if you happen to have any info for her that you could bring along she would really appreciate it. She just moved into an apartment and won't be able to do it until she has a house so if you don't get to it "no worries mon". I am a cat lover. Not into dogs at all but I do think greyhounds are beautiful. I really like the small ones...think they are called Italian Greyhounds.
Getting really excited and looking forward to meeting everyone at the DIS meet on board.
Signing off for now repeating "no worries mon" no worries mon...

Ragdoll, never a dull moment with pets. I have 2 cats along with my 2 greys. And even though the dogs sleep on their beds in my room, at least one cat is sleeping in my bed. One of my cats is 16 years old and has frequent moments but very spry otherwise (I'm sure she'll live to be 20). So I know what you mean - I'm glad you made it in time.
I'll be more than happy to pm you information on greyhounds for your DD. I highly recommend the book "Retired Racing Greyhounds for Dummies". There are wonderful resue/adoption groups for any breed she decides on. :D
I admit I got little sleep on my first cruise (non-Disney). I wanted to watch the sunrise every morning but yet go see what the midnight buffet looked like at night. (I'm not a late night person). I wanted to see us arrive at each port and watch us sail away. But sunrise was my favorite moment of the day on the cruise. I'd sit on the deck with a cup of coffee and watch the sun and the sea. I'd let the kids sleep in also so it was a quiet time where I wasn't rushed and just enjoyed the beauty around me. In fact the picture under my username was from a picture I took as dawn was breaking while we were pulling out of port in Nassau.
Ah, no worries mon.

Okay Mickey here we come ready or not.....
I have a few things to update everyone on so here goes...
Sunday Meet---3 p.m.--Promenard lounge-Deck 4
My family of 5 me, larger lady in my 50's, younger lady (daughter) dark hair, mid 30's, grandaughter, blonde 5, 2 grandsons 7 (red buzz cut) and grandson 10 (blond buzz cut). We will be the ones with the nametags with "Mickey" on them waving. One thing you can look for is I have a very distinguised wood carved cane and I will probably be sitting looking for all of you. I am going to make a sign "Dis Meet Here" and hold it up so with all that infomation I'm hoping you will all find me.
We should have about 14 groups/familys joining us--total of all is 65 (this includes husbands and children). Look for me and I will have your name tags "Mickey in his red shorts, yellow shoes and a big smile on his face saying Hello".
Saturday night meet at Grills--meet at 4:00 p.m. they do not take reservations but I will get there early to put our names in, so hopfully there won't be a very long wait. Magic sails at 5:00 p.m., we have 23 people going. Let me check this: Our party of 5 , Gamom party of 4, Seastar party of 4, Carol party of 6 and Fesslerl party of 4. Ask at the hostess desk where to fine "Melanie Boyle", I will try to find us a place to wait that is a little out of the way if I can. The name tags are the same for this "Mickey in shorts saying Hello".
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday or Sunday.
Now about the postcards can someone explain this to me please, I think my brain is on overload.
Is anyone else taking their life jackets to the meet with them? We are thinking of doing it because we will be in the right area at the right time.
See ya real soon!!!

Hi Tiggergranny-We'll see you on Sunday at 3pm. I'm going to try and get a little swimming in with the girls before the meet so I think we'll be coming straight from the pool. Afterwards, we'll head for the cabin to get our lifejackets.
Has anyone been brave enough to check the 10 day weather forecast?

Greytlady, I am a night person but the sunrise is so beautiful and the mornings on board so quiet and peaceful that I am one of the first up to enjoy! Actually I am usually the first in line at the buffey.lol. Nothing like breakfast outside at sea!
Deweysgirl, pack? this weekend? me? lol! I will be throwing things in a suitcase the night before we leave and just hope I have everything. Really, you won't need as much as you think you will.
Tiggergranny, looking forward to the meet on Sunday. We will not be bringing our life jackets. They are a bit bulky and awkward. That is one of the great little things about cruising. Everything is so close at hand in your room that it is very easy to run back for something. No need to carry much around on board. I know you mentioned you have a cane so I realize that you cannot run. Maybe you could just send DD and her kids back for them.

Hi everyone
Only 4 days left for us before we head toward Florida on Friday. I packed & shopped & packed all weekend. Just can't make myself take out 50%. Guess it depends on how much "stuff" you plan to buy on the cruise to wear on the Cruise.
I've had trouble staying asleep. Keep waking up much too early. I think its all the excitement. This will be my first cruise.
Tigergranny, this is to confirm that we still plan to be at Grills' around 4 or 4:30 on Sat. We will probably have to drag the kids away from the pools at Ron Jon! But maybe the idea of seeing the Disney Magic will help!

Hello all!
We have not started packing yet but I plan on packing on Thursday. We are busy with the end-of-the-school-year festivities. My youngest brother is graduating from high school so we have been celebrating that also.
I looked at the forecast for Cape Canaveral on Sunday and it looks good! Only a 30% chance of rain with temps at 85/69. As DCL Addict mentioned, Nassau does not look good on Monday at this point but things can change. I am not going to worry about it!!

I've got my DD almost packed. I hope to get my DS packed tonight. I figure I'll be the last minute person. Only a few more days. With the rain we've been getting lately, I'm going to have set aside an evening to cut the yard before I leave. Time is starting to fly by.
My DS10 had his awards ceremony today - made the honor roll with all As. :D
I don't plan on bringing the lifejackets to the meet. Our room is on deck 7 and figure we'll just stop on the way to the drill. They do get bulky and sometimes smelly. But I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Wow 65 people in our group - we have really grown. Tiggergranny - you are a doll for arranging everything and our nametags. Thank you!

Carol It will probably be around 4:30 before we can get to Grills for the same reason. We may have to drag the youngest out of the pools but maybe the promise of seeing the Magic will help ease the pain.
I've found that if you give children a 10 or 15 minute warning before they have to stop what they are doing, they are less likely to cry and get upset. It seems to be easier for them. Just by saying, we have only 10 more minutes to swim seems to help! At least that used to work with my grandson when he was outside and I'd tell him that he had to come in and get his bath in 10 minutes.
Ron Jon's told me that check in time was not until 4 pm but that we could use the facilities when we arrive. It kinda bothers me wondering if our luggage will be safe in our car while we swim! I guess we can always haul around our carry ons just like we plan to do on Sunday on the ship.
I'm going to contact them and schedule another night there, May 27, Thursday when we get off the ship so we can extend our vacation a little before we start our drive back to TN! Do you know about the 102 code? I've heard you can save 10% if you mention it, but I was wondering if you have to present any documentation when you check-in or if it was just an advertising code? Does anyone know? I need to contact them very soon.

First I'm so glad your daughter got her cast off, she got her first hit of pixie dust.
Second, don't worry about Grills, just get there when you can, sailing is at 5 as far as I know then we can eat. They are not the most co-operative restaurant I've ever dealt with but everyone tells me the food is great. They are going to have music playing so it may be hard to talk we may have to scream at each other, but I hope not.
Haven't started packing yet, going to do it as soon as I finish here.
I don't care what the weather is like we intend to have a ball, just as long as the seas aren't to rough.

Hi everyone and welcome home! :( Everyone at my house seems so happy to be home except for me. I am missing the Wonder already! It was so nice to meet many of you onboard. I spoke with seastar while waiting for our shuttle after the cruise and I am convinced now to write a trip report. Mine will be short and sweet as I'm not the best storyteller but I did enjoy reading the reports of others so I will contribute as well. It will be interesting to look at the same cruise from anothers perspective. I'll try and put it together and post over the weekend.
Did anyone re-book on board? I wish we could have but we're not sure of when we will be able to sail again. I am hoping for 2006!
Hope all of you had a "wonder-ful" time and have made it home safely.
Thanks to you all for your support and friendship along the way!!

Hi Liz!!! Hi everyone!!!
It was great to meet you and your family and all the other DIS boarders. That made the cruise extra special for us. I cannot believe how often we ran into each other!!!!
I am missing the Wonder very much!!!!!!! I can't believe I actually have to cook and make my bed!!!!
We had an awesome cruise-much better than I expected. The weather was great, wasn't it? We did not rebook because we are planning other vacations for the next couple of years. It looks like we will sail Disney again in about three years. We already have decided it will be a 7-night cruise.
I am working on my trip report. I am typing it up in Word and will copy it over when I am finished.
Welcome home!!! (BOO-HOO)

Hello everyone!
We just back home today - we had travelled to Tallahassee after the cruise. It was so great meeting all of you. It made my trip so much more enjoyable to get to know you in person. And the kids had a great time. We'll be on the 4/2/05 Eastern cruise in case you want to join us next year. :D
Next time, I'll be able to try some of those other things that get scheduled all at the same time. The shows were great - I think I prefer the earlier show time now that we've done it.
Happy Memorial Day to everyone tomorrow! Travel Safely!

WE ARE BACK HOME!!!!
We arrived home this evening after a wonder-ful vacation. I am sure everyone here knows what my favorite part was...the cruise!:teeth: I really enjoyed meeting you all and running into some of you during our cruise. This also added to our enjoyment! My children really felt that they had friends onboard because of your children. Thanks!
I will post a trip report soon and read yours also!

Hi everyone! It was great to meet all of you. Unfortunately I got to experience getting sick on board. But the good news is that only the last day was ruined. Had a full blown sinus infection by the time I got home. Knew the flight home would make it worse. Can't seem to kick it either. Will have to call the doctor later for a different prescription. Can't even begin to imagine getting on a plane with Norwalk virus. Will be a bit nervous about it on our next cruise but it sure won't stop me from going!
Did anyone book another cruise while onboard to get the discount and onboard credit?

Hey Deweysgirl, ragdoll, and seastar!
We did rebook while onboard. Their computer system is getting upgraded, so I had to finish that process after returning home. We thought that the 4 day passed too quickly, so we booked a 7-day this time. It is for Dec. 17, 2005. This is a surprise for our children!shhhhh! I know this is a long way off, but I knew our best deal would be to book early and with the $200 per stateroom credit and the 10% off...well...we couldn't resist! I read that the Magic would possibly return to California during summer 2006, like summer 2005. The only time we can travel is in late May/early June or late December. So our choices were very limited.
I don't know about you all, but I think that I have the blues now because our Disney cruise has come and gone! Do any of you feel the same?
ragdoll....I ran into you several times while on the Wonder. It's nice that you see the positive instead of the negative. I sure hope you are feeling okay now.
Next time, we try to do more of the activities offered. We didn't do half of what we had planned to do. What a great time we had anyway!

Hello everyone! It has taken me a week to get back on schedule after vacation! All four of us absolutely loved the cruise, including my husband, who was sort of dragged along. He is now hooked on cruising! Did we have perfect weather, or what?!!! And I have never seen such calm seas. I didn't even feel that swaying feeling after we got off the ship.
We got off to a great start when we were checking in at the port on Sunday. I asked if there were any upgrades available and they said that someone had just cancelled thier cat. 3 suite. The upgrade from our cat. 5 room was $895.00. We took it and it was worth every penny! Afterwards we couldn't believe that we actually hesitated to take the upgrade. We had booked our cat. 5 last October and got a great rate through All Seasons Travel, so even with the upgrade cost we were still a few thousand below the regular rate for a cat. 3.
In Nassau we had booked a room at the Comfort Suites across from the Atlantis. This property is owned by Atlantis so you can use all the pools, slides, etc. at Atlantis and they are vigilant about making sure that you are a guest. You have to be wearing the wrist band they issue. A room at Atlantis was $370.00 and a room at Comfort Suites was $179.00! We checked in and never even went to the room. We had a wonderful day at Atlantis and this worked out cheaper than the Atlantis Beach Day offered as a shore excursion.
Loved Castaway Cay - what more can I say?!!!
We were surprised at how much we enjoyed our day at sea. It was definitely the most relaxed day. DH and I did the Rasul Bath at the Spa. It was very relaxing and made our skin feel great after a few days of sun, sand , and chlorine. Then we had brunch at Palo, fantastic! We also treated ourselves to dinner at Palo that night, which was a few steps above the regular dining room, also worth the extra $20.00.
Overall, I'd have to rate our cruise experience as a 10!
Nena, I see that you are booked on the Magic 4/2/2005. We'll wave to you from Grill's. Thirteen of us are booked on Royal Caribbean's Mariner of the Seas (was docked next to the Wonder) on 4/3/2005! It's my parent's 50th anniversary.
Hope you all enjoyed the cruise as much as I did.

Hello to everyone else. I am going through withdrawals too but hopefully it will soon pass! I keep thinking toward a 7 day which we can hopefully plan for 2006.
Let us know how the RCCL cruise is. I'm such a Disneyholic I hope I could break away to try another cruiseline someday.
Hope everyone is doing well.

I'm with ya there. I miss our group discussions. Now that I have faces with usernames out there... :D
I'm going through withdrawals. Got back to work and things had fallen apart while I was on vacation and now it seems like forever since we were on the cruise. I am looking forward to the 7 day next year but I don't think I could ever get as nice as weather as we had on this cruise.
I finally got my pictures uploaded to the computer but have not had them printed yet. Working on that.

seastar...I was wondering about tiggergranny myself. She is probably busy with her dgc since they are out of school. They are so sweet.
Cruising is so fun. We are probably biting off more than we can chew by booking again. It is a year and a half away, so we do have some time to save $$$$. I think my brothers and their families, my sister and her family, and my mom will book for the same cruise as we booked.(19 total) That will be fun.
Deweysgirl...my dh said that he doesn't desire to try another cruise line. He loved Disney that much! Here's hoping a way for that 3-day cruise next year for you!
Hope everyone has a Happy Father's Day!

I also miss the beautiful Wonder. When asked what made me say "wow" on the comments card, I listed the Wonder and Castaway Cay! I have our pictures on webshots and on my desktop. They tend to make me depressed because I'd rather be there then just about anywhere else! I'm hoping to go again in 2006 also. I have been trying to find a super good rate for a 3 nighter on the Wonder to hold us over until 2006. I checked rates from nearly a dozen different TA's. I found the cheapest to be through a travel company called ***********. I heard good things about them on the boards so thought I would give it a shot. I spoke with Dana and she was real sweet and helpful.
Anywho, we're not quite ready to book. (have to talk DH into it!;) )
We were thinking of June of next year. They beat Allseason's quote by quite a bit and Allseason's was the lowest I had found so far. Just to let you know for those of you who might be shopping around.
Hope you all are doing well!:wave2:

I've missed talking with everyone. I have been especially wondering how our FL folks are surviving? Tiggergranny, seastar, Deweysgirl (and any other FLs I've missed)- are you surviving with the hurricanes, everybody okay and safe? You have been in my thoughts and prayers. Love to hear how everyone is.

I also miss talking to everyone and the excitement that I felt during that special time!
I cannot believe that another hurricane is probably headed towards FL and then GA!!! I was scared with winds from Frances! I know that all of you from FL were frightened! I hope and pray that Ivan turns and heads back into the Atlantic!

Hi Carol and Nena and everyone, good to hear from you! We missed Charley and were very fortunate. We were not as fortunate with Frances however. Our house and families are fine thankfully but we lost two huge trees and they took down two poles and we were without power for 5 days. We were without phone and cable connection since last night and this morning. We ended up having to take a hotel after three days as the heat became unbearable! The mess from Frances is everywhere and I'm sure the clean-up will take weeks.
Of course now Ivan has all of us worried and hopefully we'll all be ok and can get on with our lives after this.
Hope you all are well.
Take care,
Liz

Hi Liz,
So glad to hear from you. I'm glad you were able to find a hotel room for a few days and that you finally have power. The news made it sound like there were no rooms to be found. I'll be saying a prayer that Ivan doesn't do you any harm.
Take care and thanks for updating us.
