?? about airline tickets

just curious, before I look ok this is the ???, if there are 4 people going (as in my case) if I look for like 2 tickets and 2 tickets for airfare you think it would be cheaper, (sorry trying to figure out how I could get cheaper prices, thanks ::MinnieMo

i'm not sure i understand, but i'll assume you mean that instead of buying 4 at once, you could buy 2 at a time? i think it might depend on where you're buying/looking. on a site such as expedia or travelocity, you dont' know how many seats are actually available, so buying at two different times might mean that you don't get to sit altogether, or even get the same price. we had this situation last time where we had a total of 7 people, and expedia only lets you purchase 6 at a time. so my friends purchased 6, and i was online too, went immediately to buy 1 for myself, but the price had already changed.

things might be different if you are on an airline's website, but i don't think you'll encounter savings by splitting your purchase - you might just increase the anxiety if you end up on different flights.

It might. I was checking for a flight a while back and, the first time, I put in two people and got a price. When I went back to the site again, I only had one in the box and the price was lower. I called the airline and questioned why it was cheaper for one and she told me that there was only one seat left for the cheaper rate and they automatically charge both for the higher rate. You can check, but, like lilosonicfan said, you probably won't get seats together.

You can always call the airlines and ask them to give you seats together and "link" the reservations. Before the websites allowed more than 5 travelers, I used to have to do this all the time. I've never had a problem.
