Entertainment books on sale for $15

Just a heads up that the entertainment book is now down to $15 and free shipping - they haven't charged me extra to ship to the UK. I booked the hard rock ($167 - far more than previous years)for oct so need the card.
I got an email but I am sure their website would have the same offer www.entertainment.com (at the moment it is coming up blank but hopefully it is a temporary thing.)

Wow thats a great price, was going to get one at $25 definately going to get one now, although when fililng out the form it wont accept my telephone number, keeps saying i have to have 10 digits, think i must be putting it in wrong.

Any help would be great.

Just ordered mine and I put in my tel. without the first '0' and with no gaps and it seemed happy!

That is a good price - hopefully should save a bundle on eating out!!

Glad its helped others. I looked online and there are some great places especially near our timeshare. Some place I can recommend are Pebbles, Trattoria at Portofino, Bennigans, Spica Cafe and Samba room.

How do you use it to get discount at Hard Rock Hotel? I have booked Royal Pacific for one night in April and it's $249 per night!

You should be able to get it far cheaper. Ask for the entertainment rate or even the fanclub rate - on the universal forum (not the hotels one) there is a lovely lady TinkBarb who will mail you one for the postage. Ask for the rates for all the hotels as the royal pacific often gets booked up with conventions.

The Entertainment Book is well worth buying. We bought ours for $20 and used it to book the Entertainment rate at the Hard Rock Hotel - instead of $239 we got it for $134! Just ring them up and ask for the entertainment rate for all the hotels, that's what we did. Just remember to take your entertainment card with you as you'll need it on check-in :D

We are booked at Portofino Bay for early April and unfortunately the Entertainment Rate & The Annual Pass Holders Rates are not available - I checked with the operator and these rates aren't available for any of the Universal Hotels from about April 4th - 15th, so we are stuck with paying full price rack rates at the moment! :(

I've ordered the book/card anyway as I guess that I may use it at other places - and $15 is a big discount from the usual price.

Yes Julie, it's very annoying to think that just a week or two before or after people are paying literally less than half of what we are!

It's great for other discounts like you said too though, especially if you need to hire a car or plan on eating outside of disney a lot :)

There are lots of restaurant discouts for the Orlando Area, including a $5 voucher for Planet Hollywood, Vouchers for Mini Golf, some of the smaller Orlando attractions such as Wonder Works etc. and some coupons for the big shopping malls. Airboat vouchers, dicoutn seaworld tickets, free universal $ coupons ..... lots and lots!

Ohhhhh I am sooo disappointed. I just received my entertainment book and was extremely pleased with the benefits and discounts contained in it, but the coupons expire on 1 November 2004 in the 2004 book! and we dont leave until Christmas Day, so it is completely useless to me this year :(

Just thought I would mention it incase anyone else gets caught out like me. Seems I will need the 2005 book for my 2004 holiday :)

Anyone got their 2004 book? How long did it take to arrive? I ordered mine over 2 weeks ago and it hasn't arrived yet. I checked the email that they sent me to confirm my order and noticed that my address details don't say UK - although I definitely selected UK as my country.

Am I worrying about nothing? Or might my book be lost in the post? I have sent them an email to enquire on delivery status - but thought I'd see what your experience was.

I got mine earlier this week but only thanks to our PO. For some reason they omitted our city, Aberdeen, from the address label and only had Woodside UK - rather useless. However it got here! May be worth getting in touch with the PO to see if they have any parcels they cannot deliver. Oh and it was damaged but nothing was missing.

I have a horrible feeling that my book is in Los Angeles! The address that was on my confirmation email had shortened 'Lancashire' to 'La' - and it had no mention of UK!

I ended up ringing them tonight about my order - as I had got no response to an email I sent last week. I was kept on hold for ages while someone went to find out what had happened to my order! Anyway, it seems there was a problem with my credit card transaction - not declined just not accepted for some reason - but they were going to sort that out and then send the book. That was an hour ago.

I just checked email and have just received a response to my email saying they have shipped the book this morning. They also confirmed my address which included postcode and 'UK'.

Hopefully we will get it in time.

You seem to be using the right address - I don't understand why you are having trouble with it. I have been using it a lot recently and never had a problem accessing it. Is it letting you sign in (using your email address and password)?

Are you also using the right zip code? It should be 32830 for Orlando.

Whenever I try to access the website, all I get is a blank screen. Same as another poster further up the thread.

Tonight I have just downloaded our latest emails to find another email telling me my order has been shipped today!

my book arrived 9 days after ordering on 15th Feb. Packaging was shredded though and address didn't have county, country or postcode (just village name and UK). I was amazed it got here. I have no problem with the web link, just checked it.
booked 1 night special treat in Oct. at HRH. $162 +tax. (entertainment rate). So much for the tight budget!! never have considered it without the help of these boards. really looking forward to FOTL access.:hyper:

To be honest I am very dissappointed in the book, can't see much in there that we'll be using.

The free mags you pick up at places like Golden Corral and tourist information booths have better discount coupons (ie restaurants, activities like adventure golf). Maybe the hotel coupons are good but we are HGVC owners and that's already sorted - I'll be booking our first night hotel near the airport through priceline.

I'm sure it works for some !

For all those who use the book year after year, what coupons do you use, maybe I'm missing something here ??

I finally got on their website, something to do with our computer blocking it - again no interesting savings for me, once I had a nosey !!

Thanks Holly - I feel slightly better now about just having received an email saying that delivery times can be 8-10 weeks for overseas orders!

As mine was only shipped on 1st March (a month after I'd ordered it) it isn't likely to arrive before we leave. At least I'm not missing much - just wasted $15!

I will be miffed if Loews start offering ENT rates at RPR for Easter though!

Depends what you are looking for. We certainly get our money's worth. We love Pebble's at Crossroads and will use it at Bennigans and All Star Cafe also. The coupons for McDonald and Popeyes are worthwhile too.

No we're not on AOL, my husband had to sort it out - far too technical for me.

This is what I think he did:

When I originally went on the Entertainment site and registered my card, I entered my address. For whatever reason the Entertainment system blocked me from their site. My husband had to then delete all cookies related to them. When this was done, I could then enter the site and re-register my Entertainment card using Orlando (not my county) as the registration address.

I hope this makes sense as I haven't a clue really, I was in the background when my husband sorted it out. Unfortunately he's out of the Country at the moment so can't ask what he did in detail (probably wouldn't understand anyway).

How soon can you get the Entertainment rates on Universal hotels. We go in October and I tried to key in ENT where it says discount on the Loews website but it showed RPR full price $209. Also tried keying in a few earlier dates but still came up as full price. Am I doing something wrong or do you have to ring the hotel - or perhaps it's too early to get a decent rate? Then tried keying FAN for fan club rate and it is $157 - is the Entertainment rate usually similar or better?

Looks like off-site for Universal parks if they stay at these prices - any recommendations preferably walking distance to International Drive and restaurants but also walking distance to Universal parks (if this is possible - don't know this area very well).

Hi Sue,

No, you aren't doing anything wrong. Typing in ENT or FAN will offer you the entertainment/fan rate if it available for your dates. You can also try APH (Annual Pass Holder) and see if that offers a cheaper rate which may justify getting a USO annual pass (which is good value anyway IMO).
