I am so upset. I have been checking airline prices and was getting ready to buy 4 tickets to from LGA to MCO for our trip in Sept at really good prices of $141.50. ---We were going to drive, but after driving with my DH in May to Florida, I didn't think I could take the stress!!! Well, the prices are now higher, $177, whick puts us over budget. I would have bought them sooner, but I didn't have the money. I was hoping to buy them Sunday.

USAIR has tickets at $141.50, should I go for it?? I heard they weren't good.

Any ideas, I was gonna try priceline but I need to be seated with the kids.

I think I would ride in any plane than ride in a car for hours with a husband. The kids are so much more well behaved

What have you heard about US Air? My dh has flown them on business and has had no problem. I'd go for it for that price, but that's just me. Good luck!

US Air can't be any worse than Delta!!

I wouldn't wait around...sales come and go quickly.

Have you tried Southwest out of Islip? I don't know what dates you are going in Sept but I just went to their website and they have a special fare for $66. one way. Don't know if that helps you but you can give it a try. I would rather fly out of Islip anytime I can.

We have often flown USAir and never had any problems. Please consider using them, especially if their price is good!

If it is Delta Express that you are talking about, they have SEVERE cutbacks on food/services. (I fly them out of Boston.) That sopposedly accounts for the lower price, even if you fly at dinner time or lunch time. US Air flights that I have been on serve lunch or dinner.

But if you're flying out of BOS (or in singitalto's case LGA) to MCO, you won't be flying on US Airways. You will be flying MetroJet which is US Airways version of the Delta Express flights.

Of course, you could always take a US Airways flight to a non-MetroJet airport like PHL or PIT and connect to an Orlando flight there and get food or snacks on both flights, but is it really worth it?

I am on a budget and I wanted to wait till the next billing cycle on my amex started before I charged my airfare. So now all the low fares are gone. I had the USAir tickets on hold but that doesn't hold the price and they just went up too.

Is there usually a time of year that airfare goes on sale?? Say like in Aug- Sept when vacations are ending.

I'd hate to think of taking a 20 hour Amtrack($600) when I could have flown in 3 hours for $566.

Did you try JetBlue out of JFK?

What days are you flying?

Delta just lowered fares out of ISP to $141.50 until October.

Singitalto,

Hope you saw that Delta has lowered their prices. Travel must be complete by Oct 31. The sale ends July 8, I think and you must purchase tickets on-line. I saved about $65 on each ticket.

I usually fly Delta because they're our frequent flyer, & they usually have "issues." The 3 times I've flown USAir, they were excellent.
