I have one week of Induction and have lost 5 pounds. I read in DANDR that a person will be able to increase his/her net carbs anywhere between 30 and 90 total.

I do try and exercise at least 4 times a week and I would like to get a sense where my net carb limit might be.

So, if you would like to share, how many net carbs are you allowed a day?

I've been on Atkins now almost 60 days and I still try to keep my carb count down around 20 per day. I try to get most of those carbs from fresh vegetables, salad greens and low-carb bread or rolls. I'm trying to walk 35-45 minutes 5 times a week and do 20 minutes of pilates 3 times a week. (Sometimes life gets in the way and my exercise goals get off-track.) I've had difficulty with steady weight loss on the scale but my clothes continue to become looser each week.

My husband continually, slowly loses weight on 40-60 carbs per day with about the same amount of exercise.

The Atkins book says to add another 5 carbs to your count each week until you are no longer losing any weight. I think this is easier for men than women to actually tell.

It depends a great deal on your metabolism and your activiity level. 20 to 30 carbs per day is actually a great amount of food if you are selective of that food. The most important thing I've found about sticking with the plan and not feeling deprived is to up the variety of things you eat.

Best of luck to you,
Laurie

I'm losing at 60g carbs per day. I'm getting them mainly from meat and veggies (and occasionally chocolate  :p ).

I'm training for the half-marathon and am doing 3 or 4 walks of at least 3 miles each per week. Occasionally I don't get my exercise in for a week but I keep losing anyway.

Your mileage may vary. Your body will tell you what's right for you. :sunny:
