I'm looking for recommendations for the restaurant portion of the Fantasmic package. We are counting down to our Feb. 17 departure and I want to make PS for Wed. night.

Bumping up because I am also looking for recommendations. One of the other websites mentioned that 50's Prime Time cafe is sometimes offered with the package. Do any of you know what time of year (or other criteria) this is offered?

We do the Brown Derby because the food is superb and I love the ambience. The service is always top notch.

However, for my parents and my sister's family I sent them to Hollywood and vine. It is more inexpensive and the all you can eat buffet is a good choice with boys.

I don't go to Mama Melrose's because my area has superb Italian food so it wouldn't impress me.

The problem with the fantasmic Pkg for my family is the early dining times. We usually don't eat dinner at 4:30 in the afternoon.

MaryKatesMom,

Is the 4:30 dining time required because the park closes so early this time of year? I'm surprised it is so early. Perhaps the seating for Fantasmic is so open that we don't need to do the pkg??

Bumping up to see if anyone can answer my question regarding 50's Prime Time Cafe and the Fantasmic Package.

When we went last August 50's prime time wasn't on offer.

We went to hollywood & Vine & it was great. It suited our family with 4 kids as it was a buffet but with no loss in quality.

Would go there again for the package.

Package is usually Mama Melrose, Hollywood and Vine, and Hollywood Brown Derby.

I read that the 50's PT is substituted only if one of the other 3 is closed (I don't remember where I read that).

We did Hollywood and Vine last year. This year we are trying the Brown Derby. I know many people enjoy Hollywood and Vine - the night we were there it was a zoo (packed with serveral very large parties). I think the large groups resulted in some unusually long buffet lines (they all seemed to always go at one time!). We really wanted a "server" experience this year.

Last April we had reservations at 5:50. This year, all the package meals seem to be between 3 and 4. I will admit that 5:50 cut it close for a 7:30 show (especially with the crowd at the buffet).
