hotels closest to Gaylord Palms

Does anyone know of a few hotels in the Gaylord Palms vicinity? Several of us are attending a conference at the Gaylord Palms in early March and they are sold out. Would appreciate hearing about other hotels nearby. Thanks.

As long as you have a car, the hotels right next to Old Town are close by as well as those on Parkway Blvd. Also, Pop Century isn't all that far away, no more than 5 minutes tops.

The only thing is you really do need a car since GP sits on Osceola Parkway with cow fields around it.

Are you looking for somewhere of a similar standard? I would hate having to attend the Gaylord Palms for a conference and be forced to stay at a more downmarket hotel. Pop Century is really close, but I'm not sure I'd be happy leaving GP to stay there. I don't know anything about HIFS or Marriott World, so I can't comment.

As kylara says, you're going to need a car (or you'll need to take advantage of the private cars which are always available outside the main entrance), so my choice would be The Celebration Hotel (http://www.celebrationhotel.com/) in Disney's Celebration (about a 5-10 minute drive). GP is just outside the perimeter of WDW property on the junction of International Drive South and Osceola Parkway, so any of the Disney hotels would also be an option.
