I would love to stay at the Horizons by Marriott this summer. Does anyone know where to look for the BEST rate? This looks like such a fun resort for my young kids.

Go to www.Marriott.com. Sign up for Marriott Rewards if you haven't already done so. Go to the members site and search for specials.

We own a week there and have been about 5 times in the last 2 years. We love it. Our owner's newsletter says that they are offering $146 per night through March 3, which is the best rate I have seen through Marriott. If you are an Interval International member you can get an off season getaway for about $700. They might have more available because they open two new buildings in February.

If you are willing to take a tour, send me a PM and I can register you for "friendshare". You get an offer to spend 3 or 4 nights for about $150 and I get Marriott points if you buy a timeshare.

Thanks for the offer, but I cannot talk my husband into a presentation. Lucky for me, he does not know how to say no. I was really only looking for 2 or 3 nights, just because the pool area looks so cool for my kids. We will not be going until July.

The other place you may want to look is at Marriott's Timeshare website. It is VACATIONCLUB.com. I have booked the Grande Vista as well as other Marriott timeshares through their and received a different price than their regular website without a timeshare presentation. Most times the prices match, but it has happened to me 3 times. Worth a shot!

Also ...sign up for Marriott rewards...it's free and they offer "member rates" at different properties at different times.

Good luck!
