I heard on the new today that WDW characters were going to go on strike!? I'm not sure if what I heard was correct and wanted input on what anyone out there may have heard. :smooth:

Here's what I saw posted Friday--Just read that the union that represents many of the characters, ride operators at WDW rejected the contract from Disney, today. they still are negotiating and will meet again on Monday

Just for clarification...
Are the supposed to meet today, Monday the 18th or next Monday the 25th?
Thanks!

I have no idea if this is true but..
I read that a strike is highly unlikely because only 1/2 of the workforce is union. A strike would not be effective with this low number of strikers. Also read that in the past there was trouble getting the contract approved but it eventually was with no strike.

Will these negotiatons affect vacationers? Do you think there will be any less characters and magic?

I am going on Thursday, expecting there to be a little less magic. Just from what I have read about not enough employees to go around, the looming strike and such. But I am hoping this will work as reverse psychology. I will have low expectations that they will be met and exceeded therefor having a GREAT vacation.
