Ticket Price Increase Any Time Soon? When Was the Last?

I'd rather wait a few weeks to get our tix, but if there's an increase in the works I'll buy now. Any info/rumors on this, and when was the last price hike?

The gate prices went up in June, 2003 and I believe the advance ticket prices remained steady. The same situation existed last year. Sea World and Universal raised their prices about $2 at the beginning of the year, and Disney held off until June. Of course, the economic situation was worse, so all bets are off!

Historically I thought Disney used to raise their prices in April of each year..I could be wrong though....

The last across-the-board increase was September '02.

If you're wanting Hopper passes, I'd sit tight. The last increase came about 4 weeks before we had a trip scheduled. What I found was that even after Disney announced the increase, most of the third-party ticket retailers (Ticketmania, Florida Orlando Tickets, etc.) held their old prices in place until they had exhausted inventories. You could still get tickets at the old prices for as long as 2 weeks after the increase was announced.

Sea World just upped their prices a few weeks ago, and given the crowds in Orlando right now (and the anticipated crowds through the year), I'd bet that Disney and Universal are not far behind. Expect a rate increase of around $2 on a one day pass.

I can't find it right now but their was a thread in the last few days that the retailers just increased out of the blue. I would think that makes Disney any day now.

Universal is usually right there when Sea World goes up but Disney marches to their own drummer. USF and SW both went up in January 2002. Disney didn't go up until September. USF and SW went up again in January 2003. Disney didn't go up until June.

Disney definitely will go up again this year but there's really no way of knowing when.

Let's see, since 1998 there have been 4 price increases and each time the one day ticket went up $2.00. Doesn't look like you went out on a very thin limb with that prediction, Pete. ;)

Universal both going up on their rates, I would expect something similar from Disney very soon. Would not be surprised it if was a small increase that would be waived if the tickets are purchased with the Disney Visa!
