Well the signs of spring are in the air.
This morning 1/18/04 we woke to a morning thunderstorm and some nice spring rain.
My Gulf Blaze Plum trees have blossoms.
My snow peach tree has blossoms and new growth.
My Night Blooming Jasmine is starting to blossom again.
All my roses are still producing beautiful flowers..
It was 73 yesterday
Ahhhh to live in central Florida
Where shorts and short sleeve shirts can be worn 350 days a year :teeth:

Oh spring!

We've still got months of winter weather to deal with up here.

Can't wait to see green again!

All of my tulips are poking through, buds are forming on the trees and my roses are sprouting leaves. We are getting close here in the Pacific NW.

Spring has sprung.

I can guarantee you it hasn't shown any signs of spring in Mass. With the temperature hovering around 0 every day and the weather forcast of the same for at least the next 3 weeks. I feel spring may be put on hold for a while.

The frigid North East may have a long wait. It's so cold here that water pipes are bursting everywhere. When I went to work last night the water pipe that controls the outdoor sprinkler system at Stop and Shop had burst. Parking lot was totally flooded and it only took a few minutes to become a sheet of ice. Sure glad I wasn't under the overhang getting a carriage, I would have been an instant Ice Sculpture.

I shutter to think what Saturday will bring. We have tickets to a play in Boston. Brrrrrrrr. We usually take the train in then the subway to the North End to eat. Then back to the theater district. Who's brilliant idea was this, not mine that for sure. January in Boston can be nasty.

20 days and counting till my February thaw. :bounce:

I think Larry is trying to torture us! :p Mary too! ;)

So far it's been a very frosty winter. Our woodstove is going through wood like it's candy!

Mamu, I hope you bundled up well for tonight! Have a great time. :)

I grew up and lived in Western Mass. for 30 years at which point I had enough of the snow and cold. I moved to Atlanta, Ga. Thought this was far enough south to get out of the cold and snow.. NOT I saw snow each year of the 7 years I lived in Ga.
So down the road I go to Fla. I have been here for 9 years.
So I guess I can tease you all because I paid my dues living up north :teeth:
PS I might have to mow my lawn next week
