I belong to a couple of military family boards and have seen this warning and thought that I might post it here
To help ensure OPSEC (operational security) and PERSEC (personal security) for troops please avoid posting the following information-exact unit locations, exact travel dates for those coming and going from the US, and expected dates, times or locations of movements within a country. Also avoid posting too much personal information about your location or situation while loved ones are deployed. Although we want to support each other and our internet communities are an important part of that, remember that the public internet can be access by the bad guys too.
