What did the airport do to my bag?

I put my bag into the x-ray machine and the alarm went off, a man grabbed it and took off running with it, then took a brush and brushed the handles and gave it back and said thank you. He didn't open it up or anything and I was too freaked out to ask what was going on.

They were checking for explosives residue. We've never had an alarm go off, but they randomly check passsenger carryons for residue. Our bags have been wiped 4 or 5 times at various airports. You weren't handling any fireworks or storing them in your luggage, now were you?:D :D an interesting sidenote, security at MCO told us that Disney's trademark bags will produce a false positive for THC (marijuana) if they swab them for a drug test.

When I went through security in Orlando on the way home last month, they took my laptop case and did the swab thing. They did it very casually, not in a panic mode, so I assumed it was a routine check (didn't hear any alarms). My first thought was for explosives.

you would be surprised at what bombs come in these days. how they are disguised and how tiny they can be. certain times of the year they take more precautions than other times. heavy tourist times they really go overboard and if any events are taking place they really go at it! but its better safe than sorry!
