and came across this neat site about fishing in Wales.
It includes a really neat section (http://www.fishing-in-wales.com/wildlife/plants/index.htm) featuring plants, bushes and trees that grow in or near the water in Wales. It's full of photgraphs and neat info!
Some sample pictures...

What a cool site.
Are you planning a trip to Wales? What kind of fishing do you do? Trout? or are you a Bass Man?
My DS is an avid fishermen. He fishes in local tournaments in the summer. Has always loved fishing.

While I'd love to get to Wales, it's not in the cards any time soon! It's one of those places that's near the top of my wish list.
I'm more of a bass fisherman than trout. I do quite a bit while we're camping. We always try to get waterfront sites and I completely enjoy paddling out in my kayak, fishing pole onboard.
To be honest, even if I don't get a nibble, I'm completely happy while I'm paddling across a mountain lake or down a stream or river!
Probably the best thing about fishing is that it's something I've been able to do with the kids! Lots of folks might wonder why I'm sitting around all day, doing nothing, but put a fishing pole in my hand and I'm instantly occupied!
Does your DH fish for bass? I understand that the pro circuit has become very lucrative!

Very nice site, Bernie! :) I confess, I have yet to look at all the pictures, but I'll get there! :teeth
Mamu, does your DH ever win the tournaments? What's the biggest fish he's caught? :)
We do some very casual fishing up at the cottage. Pike, lake trout, small and large mouth bass, etc., oh...and lots of sunfish! lol...
My grandmother used to be very into fishing, and she was an excellent canoeist. I can still remember way back, seeing her go out to fish early in the morning. It wasn't easy for her to get in and out of the canoe because she had polio as a child, wore a heavily built up shoe, and had an awkward gait. It was also the only times we ever saw her in pants. She wore dresses for every other occasion, even gardening! :)
Here's a pic from the cottage, of Pickeral Weed, growing by the dock. :)

Oooops!! Didn't realize the weeds were that big!!!! Sorry...lol
While my DH likes to fish, and he sure can tell a few whoppers about the big ones that got away. It my Son who does the real fishing. He just started entering some amateur bass tournaments. He's good at it and it's something he's always wanted to do.
He did get his picture in the paper for a large bass this past year, don't remember the size or weight. It was the big one that didn't get away.
I have some of that pickeral weed growing in a pot in my fish pond. Quite pretty when in bloom.
