Can anyone help me?
We have annual passes for universal which expire in March.
Do Universal offer a discounted renewal?
If yes does anyone know the cost?
Thanks

On a related note, does the renwal take effect on the original expiration date, or when it is first used?

Date of first use if I am not mistaken. The only time that the purchase date mattered was whenf they did the two for one deal.

I have to renew my sons pass when we get to universal. So I call universal to check on it. They said you only have 30 days from the last day the pass is good to renew it.
You want to hear something funny it is going to expire the day before we get there.

$99. I take it that is for the power pass, rocketman23.
Any idea how much the preferred pass is?
Thanks

Tiberius,
Im pretty sure that a renewal takes effect from the origional expiry date. All new passes are from first use.

Good exchange rates obligate you to buying 1 round at DisMeets, lest anyone forget Art. 2 Para. 3 in the DisBoards' Guidelines Handbook.

Definitely worth renewing at that rate!

Unless they have changed it since July... they expire one year from the date of activation. I renewed mine in Jan 03 & activated it in July 03 (I upgraded to the 2 yr) now my experiation date is July05. I renewed my son's in Jan 03 & still have not activated it. Guest Services told me that it will be good when ever I decide to activate and it will expire one year from that date. So unless the newer renewals are different, it is from activation not experiation. It was $99 for the renewal & that is for the real annual, not the power pass.

A Mickeyfan,
This is brilliant news.
I presumed (sorry folks) that the Universal passes would be like the disney passes and that activation of renewals takes place from the old expiry date(I wonder if I've got this wrong too)
This is great news for us as our passes expire March 22this yr.
We wont be using them until April 24 onwards so it means our passes will still be valid when we go Easter 2005!!

A Mickeyfan,
Just re-read your post . You mention a 2 year pass. Are there more savings to make by taking that pass.

When I called a month or so ago I was also told that the renewals would be good for one year after activation.

The 2 year special was a promo that they ran last summer & the summer before. They may run it again.....one never knows. The deal was, if you purchased one annual for $169, you rec'd a 2nd year free. Being that mine was a renewal (unactivated & paid only $99), I had to pay the differece in price but got the 2 years out of it.... it worked out to be $85 per year (or something like that). As far as Disney, yes, their renewal date is your anniversary date....not activation date. Years ago it was like Universal's, it went by your activation date....
