Is anyone else having trouble getting the screensaver to work? I download the DVC member screensaver and when I try to run it I get a not valid message. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I don't have an answer to your problem, but I was wondering where you found a DVC screensaver ?Thanks!

I got it from the DVC members only site. They had a quiz and if you answered all 5 questions correctly you got the screen saver.
How long ago was the quiz? I must have missed it!

It was on the site at the end of the week. I see that it's not there today.

Probably because of incompatibility problems??

The quiz has returned. I completed it and downloaded. The screen saver still does not work.
I also noticed that they took off the message board link.

I just did the quiz and got the Screen Saver...Seems to work. I did notice that there are 2 links to D/L one is Mac and other is PC...Make sure you click the right one. Also you do have to run the file after you D/L it.
Hope this helps.
Got the quiz, 5 for 5 OK, third try Also pumped up..... and it tells me not a WIN 32 application.... any ideas what thius means and how to fix if possible?

Is it possible that you downloaded the Mac version instead of the PC version? What is the name and size of the file that you downloaded?
My file name is DVC_Member.exe with a size of 2,122KB or 2,172,106 bytes.

I just took the quiz and got 5 for 5 (psst...it took me, like, 10 tries!). There are two tiny links to download the screensaver, one for Mac and one for Windows. Make sure you pick the one on the right. It works fine with Win2k and I'm sure it works with 98, as that's still the most popular. It doesn't handle a dual monitor setup, however...it only runs in one screen.
The .exe file is probably a self-expanding compressed file that automatically installs the .scr into your windows directory.
If anyone wants it without taking the test (chicken!), send me a private message.

Just installed it on a Win98 laptop and it works fine. Also noticed there's sound too.

DVC is using a CGI script to send the file to your computer. Some computers will incorrectly save the file. If you downloaded file is not named DVC_member.exe (on a PC) or DVC_member.bin (on a MAC) then it will not work. try renaming the file. For you PC users, just right click on the file and select rename. Type in DVC_member.exe and then click on the file. This will open the Display control panel. you will then need to select DVC_member from the list of screensavers. It should now work. :p:  :smooth:

Problem...I have it downloaded and when I go to update in my settings it won't go! I can get it to preview, but when I hit apply and OK it won't kick on after 2minutes! What could be wrong? I have no problem getting any other screensaver to work!! Any ideas?

Every time I click on the Member Challenge, I get a little window that says "Website Not Found" - I admit that I am somewhat electronically challenged, but I though I could at least click correctly!!! Anyone have an answer for me? I want a screensaver too:(

I have windows ME and had to go into display on control panel and change the screensaver to dvc member. After that, it worked fine. Took me at least 10 tries to get it, I don't know much about Vero or HH!

When I tried to use the link in my member e-mail I kept getting an error message for the page. When I went to the member site directly and clicked on their icon for the challenege it came right up.

I'm with you Debbie....I only got all 5 cuz I played it so many times. How the heck would I know the name of the gym at HH? I've never even been there and probably won't.
For those who are having difficulty, I'll email you the file if you want. Send me a private message with your address.

Same thing happened to me as DebbieB......it put it in Control Panel, Display, Screensaver and I had to go and click on DVC_ member and apply it. Works great .:sunny:

Just downloaded the screensaver and it works fine for me. I won't admit though how many times I had to take the quiz before I answered all 5 correct.

I was having this same problem trying to get into the challenge - it kept on saying 'server not found' or 'page cannot load' - it turns out that it's not due to what operating system you're running, but what *web browser* you're running. I got that error constantly in Internet Explorer, but then when I tried loading the membersonly page in *Netscape*, the challenge came up fine. Give that a try, it worked for me. (And then of course I needed to play about 10 times to get all 5 questions right! :)

So I used Microsoft Exploder. And got all five question right the FIRST TIME (a couple of lucky guesses). I haven't tried to install the screensaver at work (NT 4.0), and I forgot to take the file home last night.
BTW - After answering all five questions correctly the first time, I managed to download the MAC version of the screensaver and I had to start all over again. So I guess I'm not so smart afterall.

After all the trouble some people had at first...the actual screensaver is a little disappointing, isn't it? I wish it showed more scenes from around the resorts and at a higher resolution. Either that or just stick with the animated sparkly thing, with a little more variation.
Yeah, I know, I know....whaddya want for free?

For those of you having trouble getting the Member Challenge page to load:
go to www.flash.com and download/install the latest version of maromedia's flash player. This is required to run the game.
The developers of the game must not have put in an auto-sensing feature to see if you have Flash installed. If you don't have flash, the game should inform you of that and provide a link so you can install it. But since they didn't do that, the browser just errors if Flash is not installed.
Flash is EASY to install. It only takes a couple of minutes. Here is a link to the installation page.
