Hi!

In case you haven't read the other thread, Here's some info!!!

I just want to say thanks to everyone who responded! We will have a great time swapping stories, pins, and information!

When? Is Monday June 25th too soon? 7pm at B&N, Crabtree?

Or should we wait till some of us are back in town after the July 4th holiday?

Aloha,
Bwalker :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

BTW, Muushka, I'm in Cary, too!!!

I give up- what is P.F. Changs?

I know that's a Chinese restaurant but I was wondering if it was buffet style.

What does everyone think????

Aloha,
Bwalker

Is P.F. Changs in the food court? If not, we probably would not be eating. My husband (if you can believe this) does not like Chinese food.:(

Whatever made you think it was Chinese?? :) Just kidding. That was only a suggestion, I just love that restaurant. It's in the mall, and if you DO like Chinese, it's terrific. It's very different, not your run of the mill Chinese restaurant, and not a buffet.

I'm game! Dinner sounds good to me since I'll be coming from work and won't be going home in between. Just let me know! :)

Here we go - I've been thinking (dangerous at best).

Don't feel bad if you do not like Chinese food - lots of people do and lots of people don't. But, I certainly wouldn't want anyone not to come (or eat b/c of that) so.......

How about.... we meet at the food court at 7PM. WE'll put a bunch of tables together and anybody can eat anything they want. If you want to go to Changs and get it to take out, do that and bring it to the food court and we'll eat all together.

I think B&N is more of a quiet and cute atmosphere BUT I'm thinking (again with the thinking!!! I hope my computer doesn't blow up!) we might have a fair amount of people and I'm not sure we could all fit at B&N!

So, please please please respond and let me get a feel if everyone thinks this is ok and I'll go ahead and email everyone with a "final" decision and all info on Thursday.

My work week is wild this week so I think Thursday would work for a decision!!!

Thanks one and all!!

Aloha,
Bwalker:bounce: ;) :bounce: ;) :bounce:

The Food Court sounds like a good idea. Good thinking.
Thanks!:)

Whenever Disney-nuts put their heads together, you just know that something good will come out of it!!!!

RweTHEREyet suggested we go to Remington Grill at Crabtree instead of the foot court.

I think that's a winner!

It's quieter, there's enough of a selection for everyone, we can spread out if we want, and even if you wanted to bring something else in, I'm sure it would be okay (there's enough of us buying from RG). I understand there's an upstairs and a downstairs (I"ve never been there) but I've asked RweTHEREyet her opinion on where we should meet.

I'm out of here till tomorrow! But again, please keep responding so we can firm this thing up!!!

Aloha,
Bwalker;) :bounce: ;) :bounce: ;) :bounce:

Yeah and I think it's fairly cheap too!

Yep, prices are not too bad, and there are usually some coupons listed in some of the shopper fliers that come in the mail, etc.

By George, I think we've got it!!!!!!!

I have never been fond of foot courts, BWalker... :) Toes have never been my thing for dinner. :)

Glad Remington Grill became an option. ;)

Remington Grill is perfect! There are lots of menu choices and the location is good. Are we still planning on the 25th at 7 p.m.? That works well for me. :)

Hi - I know you decided on Remington Grill, but just a heads up about the PF Changs in Crabtree, for those of you who eat there. I heard that the Health Department shut that PF Changs down for *3 days* earlier this month in order for them to get up to health code! Just a heads up! Jon in Chapel Hill

That's funny I didn't see anything on the television or in the newspaper at all. Where did you see this information? I would llike to know as I eat there often and think the food is fabulous.

This was not in the news or in the paper. I just did a search on wral and the N&O. I'm not giving up my Beef a la Szechuan quite yet!!

Thanks for the heads up on Remington Grill!

I called and they said there should be no problem will just showing up. I told him if we needed tables/chairs moved, we could do it ourselves!

So --- we are all set!

Just in case, it is listed under "the disney crowd".

See you Monday nite - 7 Pm for those who just joined us - upstairs at the RG at Crabtree!!!

Bwalker;)

I had called yesterday and they had us down for a large group. I was supposed to call back last night, and go home and we lost our power and then got all side-tracked, but they said no problem.

There is a flight of stairs to negotiate, just a heads up in case anyone has a problem in dealing with that.

Everyone got their pins ready? If not, come anyway, we want to meet everybody.

See you Monday.

DVCajun, I'm not giving up my shrimp dumplings and mongolian beef at Changs. Don't really care what the health rating is as long as it taste the same. Did I really say that? Yep, I am having a hard time believing they have any problems. Show me the proof............

lol RweTHEREyet-- I feel the same way! Sounds like a mini meet at Changs might be in order in the near future!

Hi Guys-

I'm verifying info from my source on PF Changs. With any luck, hopefully false info, but she has been right on many occasions in the past on this kind of thing. Again, hopefully she was mistaken. Will get the info for you and pass it on when I do.

Thanks,

JonHM

Unfortunately, I was unable either to confirm OR to find that the health violations at PF Changs were untrue. My friend that told me about it couldn't remember where she had learned of it, but adamently stands by what she told me. (She has a lot of contacts in both Raleigh and Cary through various volunteer groups, and almost all of her information in the past has been found to be accurate) - I *did* look up PF Changs' health ratings from a year ago, and they were quite good. So hopefully, there's nothing to this, but I wanted to update those of you who were worried about this. Thanks.

Thanks for the update, JonHM. I know you meant well. I guess the bottom line is for consumers to check those ratings that are posted at every restaurant to determine if they are comfortable eating there or not. Unfortunately for me, I've already experienced eating at two establishments that were then temporarily closed due to health violations: a Darryl's and a Bojangles. It does sort of shake you up for awhile!!! I, for one, will be more cautious now! :)
