Today I went shopping, I'm semi doing the Atkins diet for the next week until we go to Disney then will do the Induction when we get home on Monday... wanted to start to ween off the carbs before we do the full induction.

I planned on:

Omelet w/ cheese and Bacon for Breakfast
Salad with Crumbled Egg/Cheese and maybe Tuna for Lunch
Steak or Chicken Breast (seasoned with Atkins Sauce) for dinner and side salad and some allowed veggies (broccoli, greens).

I also bought some La Croix water in a can (flavored but no sugar/carbs, etc) and some Diet Rite Cola incase we have a soda emergency and crave something... better than regular... actually nothing in either of those brands.

Tonight we had salad w/ Cucumbers, White Cheddar Cheese, think sliced steak and broccoli that I stir fried in the wok and put on the salad w/ Ceaser for me and Blue Cheese for hubby... it was very good, didn't taste or feel like diet food...

Nothing I bought had more than 1 carb or sugar in it per serving... pretty good I think.

Sounds great to me. Also, if you like creamy soups, I found an excellent recipe for broccoli soup. The soup is delicious and very filling.

Julie

1 can chicken broth
1 can heavy cream
1/2 block cream cheese
1 can chicken -- (OPTIONAL)
Broccoli -- as much as you want
microwave for a few minutes first
shredded cheddar Cheese

Dump all in a pot and heat till cheese melts Salt and pepper to taste
it was so good even hubby liked it.
You can add onion powder if you want.
EASY to make !!!

That sounds like a great menu! I never feel deprived eating like this either. :)

Thanks for the recipe, Julie. I love broccoli cheese soup. I'll be trying that one very soon. Do you use a certain type of cheese? When I use shredded cheddar it turns into a big rubbery clump.

I think your menu and grocery shopping list look perfect. My only suggestion is to pick up some celery sticks - I use celery sticks for everything! They are great for munching on with some veggie dip (low in carbs) or to put cream cheese in them. You can use them to supplement crunch french fries or to just make your plate look more full.
